A State Department of Fish and Wildlife sends a letter to a home/landowner asking for permission to access a creek on his property to document the decline in a certain species of unheard of frogs.
The property owners' response in the second letter is EPIC.
Letter from Dept. Of Fish & Wildlife:
Dear Landowner:
WDFWR Staff will be conducting surveys for foothill yellow-legged frogs & other amphibians over the next few months. As part of this research we would like to survey the creek on your property. I am writing this letter to request your permission to access your property.

RESPONSE FROM LANDOWNERS:
Dear Mr. Nemel:

You will also need to obtain a "Frog Habitat" parking permit ($10.00 per vehicle).
You will also need an "Invasive Species" stamp ($15.00 for the first vehicle and $5.00 for each add'l vehicle) You will also want to register at the Check Station to have your vehicle inspected for Non-native plant life prior to entering our property. There is also a Day Use fee, $5.00 per vehicle.
If you are successful in the Draw you will be notified two weeks in advance so you can make necessary plans and purchase your "Creek Habitat" stamp. ($18.00 Resident / $140.00 Non-Resident).
Survey units open between 8 am. And 3 PM. But you cannot commence survey until 9 am. And must cease all survey activity by 1 PM.

Any frogs captured that are released will need to be released with an approved release device back into the environment unharmed.
As of June 1, we are offering draw tags for our "Premium Survey" units and application is again only $8.00 per application.
However, all fees can be waived if you can verify "Native Indian Tribal rights and status".
You will also need to provide evidence of successful completion of "Frog Surveys" and your "Comprehensive Course on Frog Identification, Safe Handling Practices, and Self-Defense Strategies for Frog Attacks."
This course is offered on-line through an accredited program for a nominal fee of $750.00.
Please let us know if we can be of assistance to you. Otherwise, we decline your access to our property but appreciate your inquiry.

Good responses from Joe Carter (https://t.co/LhgMvC7lSF) and Andrew Walker (https://t.co/zd4Lo67io6) to David French's confusion about both biblical ethics and cancel culture.
Congo: Islamists murdered 38 Christian civilians during their worship service in Komanda.
Many others were injured and some remain missing after the Muslims attacked them inside their church with machetes and firearms.
Pray for the Christian families affected by this nightmare.
May those responsible for this evil be brought to swift justice.
Sadly, David French continues to use his New York Times platform to chastise faithful Christians. In his latest newsletter, he trots out the tired accusation of “cancel culture,” this time aimed at believers who dare to take biblical fidelity seriously. Worse still, he misuses Scripture to make his case. Here’s my response: https://t.co/KZjpx71saj
@tlloydcline I agree. I believe those who “try” will fail. Those who are faithful to exegesis will be the future for God’s work. God will raise up those servants He chooses. But it starts with local congregations and faithful shepherding.
@HeavymetalTex I believe most who say that regarding modern political Israel are going to the idea that even Israel of old included both faithful and unfaithful.
Rom 9:6 “But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel,”

It is an incredibly sobering time for Christians. In the last two weeks, two brothers beloved by many of us have fallen. This is on the heels of numerous other failures among men in ministry of some sort in recent years.
Here's what has my full attention right now: both of the implosions in recent days related to technology. The Internet and social media can be used for great good, it's true. But I think we need to be jolted a bit by these two sin-caused tragedies. Two brothers just like us, who were given thriving ministries of God in his magnificent grace, have pushed it all away.
Why? Because of their use of technology. This should help us think afresh about digital media. Digital media is not "neutral" in the sense we sometimes claim it to be. Is a loaded handgun "neutral"? Well, it's not evil or bad, inherently. But neither is it undangerous. A loaded handgun calls for the greatest possible attention and care. This is, I increasingly think, an apt metaphor for social media and the Internet.
The side-table by your couch? That's more in the "neutral" category. But digital media interfaces very closely with what Scripture calls "the tongue." We know that the tongue is so powerful because it is the vehicle of the heart. "Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks" (Luke 6:45). The tongue is not tame and calm as used by sinful people; the tongue is a flamethrower. Here, for example, is what James 3:8 says about the power of the tongue: "...no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison."
All this equips us to approach digital media in a chastened way today. Our hearts battle a lot of sin on a daily basis as Christians; this is true for all of us (James 3:2). When you take the tongue's power, and you grip the loaded handgun of digital media, you've got a very serious situation on your hands. In noting this, I am not making the argument that it is wrong to use social media and the Internet. We have no such biblical instruction, and so we won't make a new law! God forbid.
However, we all do well to take stock of the failures of dear friends. We could easily fall as they have; we are no better than they are; we need God's grace just as much as they do. Social media and the Internet are incredibly powerful tools, far more powerful than the common "neutral" conception of them often leads us to think. Indeed, when we engage digital media, we are not putting a Coke on a side-table. It is more like we are picking up a handgun. That gun can be used for real good, to be sure, but it also can be used for evil.
In fact, digital media can *easily* be used to destroy your ministry and ruin your life. It's not hard for this to happen, in truth; it's shockingly easy for this to happen. Recent events have hit many of us hard, and we're grieving and processing a lot right now. Whatever else we consider, we need to think and pray about our usage of digital media. It simply is not worth losing our ministry, our marriage, our family, our means of provision, and much else so we can say whatever we sinfully want to say online.
Here's the point of all this. Is it wrong to own a handgun, and ever use it? No. But should everyone who owns a handgun be exquisitely careful and thoughtful with it? Yes. God help us here. May God use great tragedies of recent days to sober all of us, humble us, convict us of our own failings, and freshly put us on good paths, all against the backdrop of the forgiving love of our very gracious God (Exodus 34:6-7).
THE SAD DEATH OF *CHRISTIANITY TODAY* ...
Yesterday what was many years ago a genuinely Christian magazine published a nasty hit piece on me that is generally sloppy and lazy, w/several factual errors. They never even bother to try to fathom WHY I became so pro-Trump. A big part of the answer is that I was deeply sickened and shocked at the cowardice of so many "evangelical elites" -- w/Russell Moore and "Christianity Today" at the top of that list -- in failing to stand against the corruption and pernicious lies of the Democratic Party. I was horrified to realize that these so-called Christians were mostly leftists themselves, politically more comfortable w/Marxist atheists & America-hating globalists than with Bible-believing Christians and other patriotic Americans, whom they simply sneered at, childishly calling them "Christian nationalists" and other names. I realized that all the evangelical elites who postured that they would have stood w/Bonhoeffer or Wilberforce were now doing precisely the opposite, for the sake of currying favor w/their friends at the NYTimes & Wash Post etc. They had ZERO courage or prophetic witness, and therefore gave no evidence of the saving faith they claimed to have. The raping & trafficking of children across our open borders was not an issue to them, nor were the serious questions millions had about the 2020 election or the Covid vaccine, or the vicious animus the Biden administration showed toward serious Christians across our country. So I very happily fled from them and their craven ilk, fearing God infinitely more more than their approval. He alone is my Judge. May He in His great mercy yet reach these poor souls who have lost their way. God bless America.
A Stanford student makes the case for early marriage: "By seeking marriage earlier rather than postponing it indefinitely, you're creating the opportunity to dance through life's challenges and triumphs with someone who loves you, supports you, and helps you grow."
I used to hate Calvinism.
I was wrong.
When I first encountered Calvinism (and the doctrine of election in particular), I shook my fist at God, and said “NO WAY! I could never serve a God who would choose some and not others.”
And then I kept reading the Bible and realized that throughout the entire narrative, God is choosing some and not others.
God chooses Abraham, and no one else to make his covenant promise with.
God chooses Jacob, and not Esau.
God chooses Israel and not Egypt.
God chooses David and not Saul.
God is constantly choosing to show special grace through particular people/peoples at particular points in history.
Now, instead of shaking my fist at God and saying that that’s not fair, I marvel at the grace of God that he would show anyone of us wicked sinners any grace at all.
I revel in the grace that he has shown me and in the fact that my name was written in the book of life before the foundation of the Earth. I glory in the fact that my salvation is not up to me and my righteousness, and that NOTHING can separate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Now, of course, we demonstrate our election by continuing in the faith to the end, but we do so by faith, knowing that God has chosen us and loves us dearly.
Where I used to hate Calvinism, now election, and the doctrine of Grace are such an incredible comfort to me, and they are so clearly taught in scripture.
I talk about Calvinism, because I love the word of God. And I want other people to experience the same joy and comfort in these wonderful glorious truths of scripture as well.
This post was inspired by my morning quiet time John 17:9
I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.
