PhD candidate at Synmikro and MPI Marburg. Working with V. natriegens using systems and synthetic biology approaches. Member of iGEM Marburg 2015 and 2018
I received the PhD award of the @VAAM_Microbes yesterday in Bochum. Being selected for this price is a great honor and I want to thank everyone who made this work possible. Especially my PhD supervisor Anke Becker at @Uni_MR and everyone at Synmikro, @IMPRS_Mic and @mpi_marburg
Congrats for this fantastic work! I've been thinking abou testing retron recombineering in V. natriegens for a while but never had the time to actually do it. Are you already able to share the plasmid? I'd love to try it to build some strain libraries
New Preprint!! @alex_gonzadel accomplished a major feat on this one: ported retron recombineering, which we love so much in E. coli, into 14 new bacterial species via a massive collaborative effort involving 9 labs!

I'm super excited and grateful-yesterday I was appointed full professor at the Centre for Molecular Biology (ZMBH) at the University of Heidelberg. I am very grateful to my team, colleagues and mentors who have helped me along the way. I very much look forward to the next phase.

Very excited to share my first corresponding & shared first author preprint (together with @clemens_bohm) about developing cell-free extracts from chloroplasts of different plant species for rapid prototyping to accelerate #plantsynbio in the chloroplast: https://t.co/tHVLMztIUb
New manuscript🚨by @aaronlove89! As #synbio systems get more complex, we want to understand how to minimize burden. There’ve been fantastic papers recently (@ProfTomEllis@Moon_Synth_Bio#DelVecchio+many) – but most don’t focus on the molecular mechanism.
