@astro_jaz@SidewalkSciGuy Be sure to catch the occultation of Regulus by the Moon tonight April 25, 2026. Should be visible through a telescope even if still light out. See https://t.co/S6HltZGtqa for details.
The Moon will occult Regulus for North and Central America today. Regulus will vanish behind the Moon during twilight for the much of the Eastern Seaboard, but during late afternoon farther west. Your telescope may be able to show Regulus in daytime sky.

@AshleyGWinter Listen! Do your PT! There are many options to work any given muscle or joint. A good therapist won’t just put you through the wringer, but will work to find a routine that will stick. Absolutely worth it!! Speak up if you don’t like it. They’ll find you something better.
@EmilyRCWilson @cjsarett Take heart. I became aware of your Odyssey only when Twitter amplified the dopey “a woman ruined Homer” post to my feed. I last read it decades ago in high school (Fitzgerald) and so checked yours out of the library. I couldn’t put it down - it is wonderful! Now awaiting Iliad.
@ltelkins@DrPhiltill@ramlaen1 Please let us fans know where you end up. I joined Twitter to follow scientific instruments and scientists. The flow of info is not the same now - guessing many don’t have any reach these days or have left - to say nothing of the junk on here rn. Can’t escape it. Go Psyche!
@peterlblanchard 2. If 100Mgals/day come into Boone County, who is paying for the treatment of the 100Mgals/day of used-water output? Who will pay for the treatment plant?
@peterlblanchard Two questions: 1. Exactly what is the IEDC? It is not a state “agency” like the BMV. Is it a public-private partnership? Sounds like the public pays the bills and the private gets the profits. Can someone lay this out for us?
@astro_jaz I was left feeling, even at 9, first the moon. What’s next? Lots: Apollo 13, Nixon’s resignation, Skylab, my first time seeing Mercury at dusk, Comet West, hand calculators, everything!
@astro_jaz I don’t remember the words - hard to understand. My parents took it in stride - imagine what they had seen in their lifetimes: rural electrification, cars, air travel, air conditioning, radio, TV, WW2, nuclear bombs, JFK. They knew the moon landing was historic.
@retttx Ugly, but use zip to encode and split the file into 50Gb pieces. I’ve done that before, but not at this scale. Painful, but it works. It could be scripted and automated. Don’t know how much scratch space you would need elsewhere for the split and reassembly. Good luck!
