This is the core of design: empathy, the ability to think like people who are not yourself, to anticipate the needs of others and to care for them as if they were yours. And to always remember that your good intentions are no substitute for listening.
@SurtseyAna@Urtoez75_2 Nope. More likely a parent raised their kid wrong, and the kid grew up and realized everything that was wrong about their upbringing and who was responsible for it.
@ScottBlack24@Bryceeddy1@itsJeffTiedrich It’s not shifting goal posts when no goal posts have been defined.
I said the discourse exists.
You said prove it.
I asked what kind of proof would satisfy you.
You started throwing around argumentation terms but clearly don’t understand them.
Off to the pumpkin patch!
@ScottBlack24@Bryceeddy1@itsJeffTiedrich I didn’t put the burden of proof on you; I asked you to define your evidentiary standards. The fact that you don’t understand the difference is sufficient indication that any time spent providing you with information would not be time well spent.
Off to tend the garden.
@Bryceeddy1@kurtimus @anglefishh @ScottBlack24@itsJeffTiedrich You’re eliding the difference between the system of chattel slavery and the stories of people who succeeded *in spite* of being enslaved.
I’m not going full Godwin, given the OP, but you’re also suggesting there was an upside to the Holocaust and that upside should be taught.
@ScottBlack24@Bryceeddy1@itsJeffTiedrich You seem to be questioning the existence of a shift in educational discourse around the how the history of slavery is taught.
Please state the specific standards of evidence that you will accept if I try to help you get plugged into that discourse.
@Bryceeddy1@itsJeffTiedrich The current shift in educational approach and policy is what you’re missing. Your education was 30 years ago (ballparking, no offense meant).
@BrianJonesky @jejebob77 @UncleLonny63 Why are you screaming?
How can you possibly prove that he’s lying?
Jens’ history shares some common factors with my own, even though we grew up in different countries. And I know enough about church culture in Nordic countries to know that this isn’t weird.
@TheMcKenziest To all these people saying “What’s the profit percentage?!”
It doesn’t matter. Wages are an operating expense and should be figured based on revenue.
If you can’t operate your business such that your revenue stream can absorb a .25% expense increase, you’re doing it wrong.
@Lanksta902 @crime_st0ppers@TheMcKenziest You don’t seem to understand the difference between median and average, and that distinction is critical when discussing contingent and seasonal labor.
