@ashowhatt neither does the spanish one, the correct translation should be "(yo) me encanta NY" not "yo amo NY" which is what they presumably went for with the heart like when you like or love something in spanish it's conjugated differently than in english

it’s crazy to even say this is a monkey paw situation when his friend literally got 1 billion dollars in cash out of his wish?? no consequences at all. the wish seems to be literal, and if it carries cursed elements, such as taking away a person’s free will, that’s on the wisher.

One thing about Obsession is that it fails at being a monkey's paw story. There are no didn’t-think-this-through logical consequences of the phrasing of the wish. The wish just turns her generically horror movie crazy.

she would’ve still woken up at random intervals demanding to be freed btw bc the real nikki has had her free will taken away. but the lengths that new nikki goes to are tied to bear’s evil wish, and it becomes unbearable for her to understand he doesn’t love HER more than anyone.
