I've seen this take flying around all day and I can't stand it.

1. The Dodgers gave up the #25 and #69 overall prospects plus another piece. We gave up one Top 100 prospect (#49), a failed first-round pick with a 6+ ERA in the minors, and another decent prospect.

2. Adley has 1.5 years of control compared to Skubal's 0.5, plays the most demanding position on the field, and is someone we has a very good chance to extend. Unlike Skubal who you will either let walk or pay him a unreasonable amount of money.

If the Red Sox had traded this exact package for Skubal instead, I'd have been disappointed. I'd much rather pay this price for Adley.
