Clip on radio about the timber ship washed up on a Canadian beach.... the interesting bit though the guy who found it was at the beach collecting seagulls for lunch ๐ค
Initiatives from app companies to increase take up of the KoL is all well and good, but the only real solution, long term, is to reestablish a clear demarcation between taxis and PH.
There has to be a significant payoff if we are to expect potential cabbies to commit to 2+ yrs study.
Main point for this post is to demonstrate that nothing radical is required. We do not need a stakeholder lead review, we need engagement with TfL to obtain a commonsense outcome to secure the future. The data does not lie, something has to happen with driver recruitment &vehicle
'New' Vision for taxi trade:
1. Access all roads
2. Maintain two-tier
3. Accepted by TfL as London Transport
4. Actively promoted as part of transport strategy
5. Genuine enforcement
6. KoL review.
7. KoL recruitment (advertise as TfL do for train & bus drivers)
8. Optional TC.
