The people of #Sudan need the international community to act.
@EdemWosornu shares our 3️⃣ asks to the @UN#SecurityCouncil:
❗️ Protection of civilians, and the infrastructure and services they rely on.
❗️ Unhindered humanitarian access.
❗️ Scaled up and flexible funding.

The devastating war in Sudan has required communities to organize Emergency Response Rooms (ERRs) to provide basic and life-saving humanitarian services to civilians at the very local level. The targeted killings of ERR members, doctors and other Sudanese who bravely provide support to their neighbors must stop.
Urgent health and nutrition needs of 200,000 children and families in conflict-torn areas in #Khartoum can now be met in primary healthcare sites with ready-to-use therapeutic food; supplies for treating common childhood illnesses, cholera, malaria; and cholera & midwifery kits.
It's time to reimagine aid and politics in #Sudan - and, dare I say, globally.
Working via grassroots structures, which have embedded trust from their communities such as ERRs, is key to advancing a politics that prioritises the protection of life amid so much death.
Seminal moment that underscores the efficacy of civilian over militarised politics.
While SAF engages in famine-denial and the RSF loot aid and both spend time putting up blocks to aid, the ERRs have locally-negotiated passage of food aid into Khartoum for the first time.

We are glad that community-led response efforts in Sudan are nominated for #NobelPeacePrize 2024.
One hour to the @NobelPrize announcement, read how youth-led ‘emergency rooms’ shine rays of hope in war-torn Sudan. #KeepEyesOnSudan

#Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms - community groups keeping people alive during the war - are among the favourites for the Nobel Peace Prize, according to reports. In a couple of minutes we'll speak to @hajooj about their work #KeepEyesOnSudan
#NobelPeacePrize had deserving options this year—nuclear disarmament is an worryingly worthy cause. #Sudan’s 🇸🇩 Emergency Response Rooms were also nominated; their courage, resilience and ingenuity in the face of a massive, brutal, neglected war should still be commended by all.
Interesting article previewing who could win the Nobel Peace Prize tomorrow from among 286 nominees of which 89 are organizations including Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms and the OSCE Election Observation Unit. https://t.co/JwMkP2PVMt
In a few hours, the @NobelPrize Committee will announce the Peace Prize winner. I predict Sudan’s Emergency Response Rooms will win. They certainly deserve it.
Here’s why:

Emergency Rooms in Sudan are bearing immense burdens amidst the war. Their resilience and hope for the people earned them a Nobel Peace Prize nomination from the Oslo Institute. Despite the collapsing health system in Khartoum, these small, volunteer-run medical centers have managed to save dozens of lives despite the overwhelming challenges.
Our report covers the health situation inside these centers in Khartoum.
It has been seventeen months since the war erupted in April 2023, and it seems like there is no end in sight.
The remaining residents in Khartoum are facing a harsh reality and one of the worst humanitarian catastrophes ever recorded.
Here is a brief story and scenes of Khartoum
