@NathanFaas@MNHockeyStar Generally it is because of the way the HS model in MN that is different from almost anywhere else and some are protective of the HS model and things that would pull talent away. So we look at things differently here in MN. This rule will pull talent from HS in MN likely.
@DarinWestphal@Buccigross Kind of like Motzko not even making a call to Mason West to gauge interest. Some of the decisions by folks at the U of M are puzzling.
@ZachHalverson How does having assigned seating play into more people attending? Not being a dick just honestly asking? And they should play both championships in the evening session on Saturday honestly
@HanischBakery I don't necessarily disagree bit watching it at full speed real time live in the arena it wasn't clear that he stuck his leg out backwards like it was watching the replay. Real time I can see how a ref misses that especially in OT where you don't want to be the reason as a ref.
@Stubby_Clapp@MariucciManiacs Edina Varsity is a much tougher team to make than Madison Capitals AAA. Let's just make sure that is clear! He just played there prior to the HS season starting since MNHS starts so late.
@EmrickDoc69@MarkyF_ Been state earlier in the Replies but you can't celly in front of the opposing fans. It is now a penalty. Therefore part of the blame goes on the MSHSL for implementing that rule.
@ClankoMedia Can he be double rostered like that? I thought if you were on a high school roster you couldn't be double rostered to a AAA or junior team.
@MNHockeyStar For anyone that wants to keep up on Class A hockey go follow @ClassAHockeyGuy if you don't already. He does a great job covering the A schools!
@JCrippa20@JMZygmunt11@mnhshockeytalk I think leaving for the NTDP if given the opportunity is almost a no brainer even over leaving for any other USHL team. The resources there are next level. Obviously depending on what your role is there as well. That is something else I think is overlooked in decisions.
@JCrippa20@JMZygmunt11@mnhshockeytalk I guess the point I have always made to everyone is that each situation needs to be looked at individually. Blanket statements don't work in this situation. There is not one correct path for everyone. There will be kids that leave that should have stayed and vice versa maybe.
@JMZygmunt11@mnhshockeytalk Sorry for my grammar mistake. Many people say juniors when referring to the level. Correct grammatically or not it is how it is referred to in conversation. But I apologize. Doesn't change my point though. Probably forgot a comma or two in this post as well honestly.
@JMZygmunt11@mnhshockeytalk Not talking as much about if juniors is better or not. And just like anything there is a wide range of quality of HS programs and the quality of competition a kid would get on a nightly basis depending on the program they play for.
@JMZygmunt11@mnhshockeytalk There are examples of kids that stay and have huge senior seasons in HS and improve their draft ranking where had they gone to junior maybe their role would have been less and they wouldn't have gotten that boost. It goes both ways. I was more pointing to the exposure portion.
@JMZygmunt11@mnhshockeytalk I was speaking more to the exposure point. There is plenty of exposure in MNHS hockey. Now it is relative based on the program you play for. No doubt that USHL or WHL is higher level of hockey. And I don't think there is any point where a player becomes "too good" for MNHS.
@YouthHockeyHub@bertogliat Isn't NCAA recruiting based on grade and not birth year? 09s that will be juniors this year can take official visits and verbally be offered and commit and incoming sophisticated were able to be contacted(phone, email, text, etc as of June 15th I believe.
