@GeorgeTakei You normally have good takes, but inflation is certainly not tamed, Mr. Takei. I spent $6 on a single box of cereal that used to cost $3 just a few years ago. Interest rates on loans are through the roof. Biden is not a good president (as someone who wants Trump in jail btw)
It's the hypocrisy that gets us. No one bats an eye when Israel commits crime after crime, taking more land and kidnapping Palestinian children in the middle of the night for throwing a rock at a tank. No one ever says a word about all of the war crimes Israel has committed - ever.
It's the hypocrisy we see that Israel can do whatever it wants and no one says a word, but if someone decides to fight back against all that has been taken from them - "shame on them! Terrorists!"
It's not a good thing what Hamas did. Killing innocent people is never right - but why the fuck doesn't anyone call out Israel when they constantly do it? How many IDF snipers have killed children? How IDF bombs have wiped out entire families? The fucked up thing is, all Israel has to say is "they were terrorists."
The Israeli government has dehumanized the Palestinian people to the point of their own leaders calling Palestinians "nothing but animals".
People keep saying that "Israel is the only democracy in the middle east."
It's not a democracy, it's a Zionist Theocracy.
WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?
There is no solution. It's all pushed by hatred, religion, racism, and stupidity.
I wrote about how growing up I was fed a completely one-sided narrative.
And how there will be no lasting peace or justice if we don’t acknowledge the truth.

When they killed Trayvon Martin, it was the Palestinian students—out of all those students of color on campus—that immediately got it. I’ll never forget the moment of not needing to explain the problem of deputized white supremacist violence, or the hugs and solidarity that followed.
When I was a little boy, the Japanese military attacked Pearl Harbor. It was a surprise attack, and thousands of U.S. servicemembers perished. As a nation, we were stunned. And we vowed to strike back. Revenge was understandably on everyone’s mind, including many Americans of Japanese descent who opposed the emperor and were peaceful and law-abiding U.S. citizens and residents.
In its zeal to exact that revenge, however, the U.S. government overreacted, out of fear and bigotry. They targeted everyone who happened to look like the people who had carried out the attack. Those of us who had done nothing wrong were forced to pay the consequences for the decisions of others far away and disconnected from us. We were interned for years, in open-air prisons, while America went off to fight Japan, Germany and Italy.
It’s so important that we carry the lessons of the past through to today. Merely because one group commits atrocities and acts with depravity does not mean vast hundreds of thousands or even millions of others should be lumped together with them and made to suffer. We must never paint with the brush of justice and retaliation too broadly, or the toll of human suffering will rise immeasurably.

A young woman was found dismembered in Brooklyn. Truly awful case of what appears to be long running domestic abuse. NYPD previously responded at least 6 different times. Police don’t prevent or deter violence. They just don’t.
