how do you tell someone "i'm not ignoring you i'm just disconnected from reality right now and the days are all blurred together and i feel completely apathetic towards everyone/everything around me so it's really hard for me to maintain a conversation" without saying that
Women act like little girls if they feel protected and very attracted to you. They act like a mom when they think you are a worthless loser. It is what it is. So much of the discourse on here is people being mad about biological impulses.
I think a lot of men need to realize they don’t have nearly the amount of gold required for the women who fuck w them to be actual gold diggers. You don’t pay any of her bills, you don’t fund her life, you don’t send her money for nails or hair or anything that could be taken as funding her.
You buy her food when you’re together. You buy her gifts on holidays. That’s kind of just a normal dynamic of any basic friendship.
If she goes to work every day and funds her own existence, you just throw her some dinners or buy her a coffee here and there, you’re doing the actual bare minimum that women do for their female friends on a regular basis. You have no gold to dig.
My girl best friend told her boyfriend something that lowkey changed how I see relationships.
She said, “I don’t want obedience. I want consideration. I shouldn’t have to beg you to think about how your actions affect me.”
She told him, “You’re allowed to have friends. You’re allowed to go out. You’re allowed to live your life. But if you constantly put yourself in situations that you know would hurt me, that’s not freedom. That’s you choosing yourself over us.”
Then she said something that hit:
“If I have to keep explaining why something disrespects me, it’s not confusion. It’s comfort. You’re comfortable knowing I’ll stay.”
And whew.
She wasn’t yelling. She wasn’t threatening to leave. She was calm. Grounded. Clear.
She told him, “I won’t control you. But I will control what I tolerate. And if I start feeling small in a relationship that’s supposed to feel safe, I’ll remove myself. Not to punish you. To protect me.”
That’s what emotional maturity sounds like.
Not “do what I say.”
But “I see the red flag. I told you it’s red. If you keep walking past it, I’m not dragging you back.”
One time I missed my period. I panicked. I told him.
He was quiet.
Then he said, “So what are you going to do?”
I said, “WE? What are we going to do?”
He replied, “I’m not ready to be a father.”
Okay.
But the funny part is, this is the same man who was always saying: “I want a baby with you.” “You’d be a good mother.” “I want to put a baby in you.”
So you want to put it in… but you don’t want to take care of it?
I went to the clinic. Turns out it was stress.
When I told him I wasn’t pregnant, he was suddenly happy. He even said, “Thank God.”
I stared at him. Then I smiled.
Because that day I realized, some men don’t love you. They love the benefits of you.
And the moment responsibility shows up, they start acting like victims.
I left him shortly after. Not because of the scare… but because I saw the future and it looked like single motherhood.
One time, my dad said he ate the best fried rice at his friend's place and commended his wife for being the best fried rice cook...... My mum heard this, and for one whole ass week we were eating fried rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner🤦🏽♂️
Till my dad apologized😂😂
the older i get, the more i reach the conclusion that most problems within a relationship can be resolved with emotional intelligence and good communication, only IF both parties have the same intention: to find solutions.
i saw a girl on tiktok who said "accountability is so important to me. nobody's perfect, but don't try to flip the script and make my reaction the issue when your actions lit the match" i felt this to the core.
NOBODY knows a man better than the woman he’s in a relationship with. when i say NOBODY, i mean NOBODY. not his PARENTS, not his HOMIES, not his SIBLINGS. they see ONE SIDE of him... but his girl gets the RAW, UNFILTERED version. the BROKEN version. the LOVING version. the HATEFUL version. the UNSTABLE version
I think men are becoming too content with being useless. You guys literally Can't fix shit, can't build, don't pay for shit, struggling to plan dates. Like what are you really here for??
my therapist said “people who struggle with anxiety & depression can’t remember a lot, bc they're too busy focusing on how to get through each moment so they don t actually experience what is happening to them, causing them to not form the memory they were supposed to” felt that.
LAZINESS can kill a relationship. no, you’re not CHEATING. but there’s also NO FLOWERS, no SURPRISES, no APPRECIATION posts, no SWEET MESSAGES, no DATES (unless your s/o practically BEGS for them). so yes, the truth is LAZINESS can SLOWLY kill LOVE. sometimes, simply being LOYAL just isn’t ENOUGH
