GD talking about his 8 years long hiatus

🐉: “Looking back at that time, it was sort of a transitional period, and I was feeling pretty worn out. Though it was a precious time, it was also the most dazzling and brilliant part of my youth.
Now, I feel more at ease both mentally and emotionally and have become more positive. The version of me you’re seeing now smiles a bit more, and I’m doing okay.

When time was granted to me, it felt as someone deliberately placed a comma in my life. When I had that time, at first, I made a conscious effort to just take it easy. Unlike before, I didn’t rush to do something, nor did I force myself to do more. Because I had spent such a long time that way, I started to take a step back— travelling alone, meeting new people, and making an effort to live a more ordinary life. Through spending time with friends, I naturally ended up learning a lot of things. I lived like a frog in a well for 8 years, often wondering if I was wasting time, if it was okay to live like that.

But in the end, I realised that time was something I truly needed. It helped me in more ways than I can say. Because of that time, I found the motivation to start something new. And through it all, the word ‘Übermensch’ became something I kept repeating to myself. For me, it was like a mantra— a sort of protective shield. “
