@WoodfordAlan Oh you can Alan. You can count on West Ham to achieve sweet FA 😂 you can’t wind a West Ham fan up like that. We are bread to expect disappointment 😂😂
Just learned about the passing of Jose Antonio Reyes. We may have lost him today but he will live on in the hearts of many for years to come. That’s truly Invincible RIP #Reyes#Invincible
@_r00_ That’s never going to be feasible in a capitalist country. Like paying 16’s the same NMW as over 25’s. There’s no incentive for the business to hire the 16’s. As it stands theirs no incentive for hiring home grown. Are these KPI’s a legislation or a directive? I’m keen to know.
For those that support a second referendum can I ask this question? If the voting result is to remain will we have a third referendum? If not why? I’m genuinely curious to hear. Does it need to be 100% either way. Let’s be civilised and discuss this #PeoplesVote
@_r00_ Anyone who thinks this country can run entirely with the people born here are naive. However I do support nurturing home grown talent. This will future proof us against an ever changing economic landscape. This sounds like great news. Excellent for our kids.
@_r00_ Frictionless borders for trade should be easily achievable. The DPA 2018 mirrors the GDPR in order to allow for multi national tech comps to interact. Finding a solution for goods shouldn’t be an issue. The problem lies with the landlocked countries. Northern Ireland and IRL.
@_r00_ Having said that I do agree with your overall point that simply blaming the EU and voting leave will not solve the fundamental problem we have with immigration. A stricter points based system is needed. Although an island to send the British born work shy would help as well.
@_r00_ Well again not strictly true. The Maastricht Treaty does not allow for restriction of movement between member states. At the time the only exception was Denmark after an opt out was added as a concession in the Edinburgh treaty to sway the referendum. After the first was rejected
@_r00_ I enjoy debating without knowing somebodies vote but what they actually think about the issues at hand. I fear too many people have attached their vote to their identity. And are blind to facts. Which is why I’m enjoying this debate. No mudslinging. Shame this is unique.
@_r00_ I truly feel this is how the public gains confidence back in their elected leaders. Growing up I always thought I would be a labour supporter. Until I grew up and realised that politicians only care about elections. To hell with integrity. What a sad state that is.
@_r00_ My children come from an immigrant family, I more than anyone believe in immigration. However I also believe on all fronts it needs to be controlled. Not just EU. If you didn’t everyone would go to the most prosperous areas. Reducing resources. It’s a shame but the reality.
@_r00_ This seems like a reasonable reason to want to vote remain. With no understanding of the economic impact it will have on your trade. Would you vote leave if you felt your cost of trade would go down? I believe the travel and work issues wouldn’t be an issue. Norway as an example.
@_r00_ If it’s illegal they should be held accountable. But I’m thinking about manifesto promises. If I applied for a job and lied about my abilities and what I would achieve. I would be sacked and if my lie was documented e.g. a CV it would be criminal. Why are politicians different?
@_r00_ In actuality the change allows for greater voting power based on population size. Meaning Germany. With the largest EU population now has the greatest voting power. As much as people say Leave voters didn’t know what they were voting for you have to ask do Remain?
@_r00_ That’s not strictly true. According to the LT from 2009 3 different standards have come into effect. Meaning a single country can not veto a law change in all instances. There are still instances a country can veto but no longer are all laws passed this way.
@_r00_ When this came into power we did not hold a referendum. The danish did and rejected it until they were given unique concessions through the Edinburgh treaty. The french did and only got a 50.8% majority. People feared the legislative power the treaty gives the newly formed EU.
@_r00_ Further more the referendum you refer to was not on membership to the EU but the common market. The EU as it is now did not come into effect until 1993. This was the Maastricht treaty. Designed to further European integration. Through the 3 pillars strategy. Now the Lisbon Treaty
@_r00_ That’s politics for you. They all lie and are never held accountable. That’s the real change needed. Imagine a democracy where a politician is held accountable for the promises they made to get them elected. You’d soon get a lot more honesty. Surely it’s a form of perjury?
