So @benshapiro put out a video asking me to explain why his new movie is Islamophobic, challenged me to name more than 5 movies with Muslim villains, & called me a "terror-hugger" & "spokesperson for Qatar."
Here's my response to Shapiro's gaslighting, with lots of receipts:
The anger from media elites should be understood not as a political argument, but as frustration that they are losing market share. They are mad that fewer people are paying attention to corporate media, which means media elites are losing relevance, power & ultimately business.
They are wrapping that rage in electability arguments and political punditry, but the rage - the really deep anger exemplified here, screaming at a Twitch streamer and effectively demanding politicians stay away from independent media - isn't about political ideology or what particular strategy they think Democrats should adopt.
For these media folk, it is about something way deeper and way more personal: their loss of status that they've enjoyed for decades and that they feel entitled to.
The folks at Fox frequently say that folks left of center use heated rhetoric that de-humanizes Republicans and incites violence. All of these clips are from Fox News last week. The network should take its own advice.
Hasan Piker responds to clip of Joe Scarborough screaming on MSNOW that Democrats should call Hasan out over his anti-Zionism
"Was he this mad when Trump won? Because if I recall, he went to Mar-A-Lago to kiss the ring, and the tip of Trump's penis.
God damn, boomers and their emotional support apartheid state."
BREAKING:
Bashar al-Assad, the former Syrian dictator, has been sentenced to death in absentia by a Syrian court.
Assad, along with his immediate family, fled to Russia in December 2024.
His brother, Maher al-Assad, was also sentenced to death in absentia.
Their cousin, Atef Najib, the former security chief, was in the courtroom when he received the same sentence.
The convictions include crimes against humanity and war crimes committed during the Assad regime’s rule.
If it looks like an Amazon delivery and drives like an Amazon delivery, then it's an Amazon delivery, right? Not according to Amazon.
Big companies like Amazon have built a vast network of subcontractors who deliver their packages while shielding them from accountability.
It leaves our workers unprotected and our streets less safe. It's time for a change.
I'm proud to support the Delivery Protection Act to crack down on exploitative subcontracting and build an economy that works for everyone.
BREAKING: It appears that the White House believed there was a likely threat that Trump’s plane could’ve been shot out of the sky, but allowed the entire White House staff that was with him as well as the media to fly in that plane.
Imagine if Biden had done this.
Hunter Biden: “It’s all mine, all those emails. You know what not a single one of them proves? Any criminality of my father whatsoever. Of any way in which I sent an email saying hey dad I need you to get this done on behalf of a client of mine. It’s all out there, the entire digital footprint. Either I’m incredibly good, in active addiction as a crack addict, or it doesn’t exist. I say to everybody: show me your phone because I showed you mine and you didn’t find a goddamn thing”
Hunter Biden: “My dad in 1972 took a vow he would never own a stock or a bond and he kept that vow over 50 years of public life. He retired from the presidency as having probably the lowest net worth of anyone that ever entered the presidency. Meanwhile, he got tagged with this idea of the Biden Crime Family and all of that crap. Donald Trump is selling 100K early access to his Truth Social tweets which is just a front-running for insider trading in the open”
