How Modi countered China in Nepal without any Army, or a single dollar spent in Nepal.

China had been pouring money into Nepal for years. Under the Belt and Road Initiative, large dams and hydro projects were being built in Nepal so that Beijing could increase its influence in India's neighborhood, and the plan was working.

Modi silently observed this till the design and the main structure of dams was completed.
Then the Modi government dropped a silent bomb in the electricity trade guidelines. The rule was simple: India would not buy even one watt of electricity from any project that used Chinese funding, construction, or equipment. Full stop.

This is where Modi's tactical planning came into play. Nepal has a huge power potential, but its own market is small, so it must sell electricity to make a profit. And because of the Himalayas in the north, sending power lines to China is impossible. That left only one route: India !

The calculation was brutal. If a project was built with China, India would not buy the electricity, and the project would become useless. Investors got scared and left China overnight.

Modi filled the foreign space and handed major hydro deals to Indian companies like NHPC.

This is modern geopolitics.

China kept building cement dams there, while Modi took control of the switch off button for all those dams from Delhi's policy room. Without firing a single shot, the game was over.
