We are the only country where kids go to school & could wind up shot. 💔 This is an urgent crisis, not something that can leisurely be looked at in the future. It is disgusting that we as a nation can not universally see this as something that needs to be changed immediately.
insane how the only notable change since Sandy Hook is that kids are now formally trained to hide, barricade doors, fight, or run for their lives. that was the solution. to literally put the responsibility on them to figure it out and wish them luck.
Charter schools and private schools aren’t required to admit every child. They aren’t required to have a SpEd program or make accommodations. Public schools are required to accept every child and meet their needs…defunding public schools threatens the most vulnerable kids.
Every other country: here are your taxes. Does this look OK?
America: TurboTax and H&R Block lobbied Congress so you have to pay them hundreds of dollars and pull together all the paperwork the government already has to file your taxes manually.
Today 193 Republicans voted to keep insulin at $1200/mo instead of $35. Tomorrow every Republican will ask you to be outraged that gas is $4.30 instead of $3.30.
In the GOP world, $1200 for insulin in fair play but $4.30 for gas is an outrage.
Vote them all out.
March 2008
Gas: $3.23 a gallon
Oil: $104.54 a barrel
March 2022
Gas: $4.32 a gallon
Oil: $95.75 a barrel
Don't cite inflation. Cite the damn corporate greed.
Disney: "we are forced to raise prices for theme parks (up 165% since 2000) and Disney+"
Also Disney: we laid off 28,000 workers in the pandemic, issued a $1.5B dividend, made $2B in profit last year, and just gave our CEO a $14.3M bonus to $32.5M a year

so when companies were struggling at the start of the pandemic, we gave them a $3 trillion bailout
now that they're enjoying record profits (by raising prices), we don't get a dime of it
there's always socialism for corporations, but never for the people paying the bill
