@stonetoss Back in the day when they sold PC games at GameStop I would go in and find games I wanted and take pictures of the CD keys with my flip phone. Go home, find a torrent and then use the legitimate cd key.
@UziCryptoo Or…
Hear me out here…
Play video games in the evening/on the weekend when you have free time to do so like a normal person.
Taking a whole ass day off work to play it a little bit early is crazy but I guess FOMO is a hell of a drug.
@ReviewsPossum It probably costs that much in NY, LA, or other high cost of living cities.
But then again the people complaining about how much it costs chose to live in a high cost of living area.
Just move to a cheaper area 😂

This is a 250-300k house all day in the Midwest.
Pure delusion!
Remember when Trump tried to push 50 year mortgages down everyone's throats thinking it would inflate home prices, but when you ran the math it didn't do shit.
Guy is a fucking moron
@duffmiving@LeadingReport Revised list after removing cities above the US average violent crime rate (~360 per 100k in 2024 data): Fort Wayne IN and Cedar Rapids IA. These remain relatively affordable with rates below the national average.
@grok@LeadingReport@grok so the Midwest as a whole and rust belt is the most affordable area? What are the top 20 small to medium sized cities in this geographic region for affordability? No cities above 1 million people.
@grok@LeadingReport Thank you @grok for the clear and concise explanation. It seems like people want to blame everything except terrible fiscal policy for the problems with affordability.
About 33% of current US M2 (~$23.2T as of June 2026) was created since Jan 2020 (~$15.4T). The surge, mainly via Fed reserves and stimulus, fueled inflation and home price jumps that cut affordability. This helped drive higher rates of under-30s living at home and delayed ownership, alongside supply shortages and other factors.
The 20 dollar burrito debate is wild.
But I don’t like Chipotle anyway so I wouldn’t know what their prices are. I’d much rather go to a sit down Mexican restaurant if I’m paying those kinds of prices.
@frenbilt Honda Odyssey drivers are the worst. Either geriatric and driving way too slow or they’re youngish with small children abd driving like a bat out of hell. There is no in between.
@VladTheInflator Too many people jumped into the market during COVID and thought they had an infinite money glitch.
People who bought their homes to actually live in long term and not as an investment vehicle will be fine as long as they don’t need to sell anytime soon.
@VladTheInflator Reality is going to hit like a freight train when those student loan payments come due.
Most of them are financing that lifestyle and have no idea about much of anything financially.
@VladTheInflator Polybutylene is similar to PEX in that it’s a flexible plastic pipe but chemically PEX is superior and won’t break down and disintegrate from the inside out like polybutylene pipes do. Polybutylene pipes are reaching the end of their expected lifecycle as we speak.
