I think much of the incoherence & backflips in #COVID19 response, esp in rich countries, came about b/c ppl don't understand who ICU teams are & what they do
I'm an intensive care specialist who did an MBA to try & understand this better myself, here goes at an explanation: 🧵⬇️
@drgregkelly Yep one drawing to explain multiple concepts. And people were still confused at the end “I’ll just leave this here so you can consolidate my teaching”
@DanielAndrewsMP Great! Using your own logic can release your stockpile of PPE. So I can at least do my job safely. So when you release the restrictions on firearms I’m sill alive to buy what let’s me unwind
Death Rate of “only 1.6%”? Well, we each have about 100 people in our circle of family, friends and acquaintances. That means we each go to at least one funeral of a person who died from SARS-CoV-2, in the next year? That doesn’t bother you?

Missing since 4pm Christmas night. Our next door neighbour Ian Whinfield left Mininera for Serpentine and hasn’t been seen since. He likes back roads and he is very loved by lots of people. Please share in the hope we can find him #missing
@drgregkelly that is how you learn through the AFF table. Gamification has so many applications in health care from recruitment through to quality improvement projects. Banking and engineering sectors are already using it heavily. Health care needs more agile thinkers for faster changes.
HELP: We recently lost our daughter at 24wks gestation and want to donate #rockingchair to hospital in her name. must be leather or vinyl but i don’t want your usual ugly glider chairs. Not allowed timber as we wished. Classical or simple styles in Aus. Retweet pls #babyloss
@prue_addlem I’ve just done a quick search of some of the medical suppliers I’m familiar with. Glide chair may be an option. Otherwise purchase a solid fabric one you want, take it to an upholsterers and get it recovered there are some good ones around that do really nice custom work
Improvement can be a cultural shift of searching for mistakes and working to not letting them happen again rather than hiding mistakes or denying they exist. #pexs2018 panel discussion on health data @carriemarr@bhiNSW
