@theallinpod listening to last Friday’s episode about the one hour mark about Grover Norquest complementing the state of Colorado budgeting mechanism. In theory, it is good. I live there for seven years. What they don’t tell you on the surface is every year the legislature goes back to the citizens and ask them to keep the money that is part of the constitution to give back. So wow there is a limit on spending that is constitutionalize. Every single year I live there there’s always some sort of ballot measure that says hey the government could use the money better than you could so will you vote to let us retain it. Luckily, even in a very deep blue state, the people still vote against that. But who knows how long that could last.
@elonmusk first of all. Huge fan. Of you, Doge, Trump, all of it! So happy for all you’re doing and taking the risk. Thank you!
Listening to your Rogan 2-28 interview. Early on. You call out left for saying “threat to our democracy.” You like “through to bureaucracy.” I’m more cynical than you I guess. I believe they carefully and knowingly use the word “our”. They believe only their version is important. You are not a threat to democracy (you are saving it). However, you are a threat to theirs! Keep doing it. Thx!!
@PlanetTyrus hey Tyrus. Love the spot tonight on Gutfeld. Especially the segment on Classic Rock. Loved you gave it credit to contribute to rap. Just to add to the convo a little. I’ve got you by a few years. Love classic rock. Pretty knowledgeable as a fan goes. Had heard them talk a lot about their influences. During Covid, got to watch lots of docs and then started to listen directly. So much of Classic Rock is borrowed (some straight of stolen) from the black blues greats of the 30s-50s. Robert Johnson, Howlin Wolfe, Muddy Waters, Bo Didley, Little Richard, Chuck Berry. So many greats. And the soul ladies of the same period. It’s all cyclical and so good. Peace!
I am so happy to announce that I will be returning to Florida high school coaching as the new Head Swimming and Diving Coach for…… the ST THOMAS AQUINAS RAIDERS!!
I literally feel like I just got drafted, in the First Round! I have been a Mudskipper, a Flying L, a Gator, a Spartan, an Owl, a Bobcat, a Redskin, a Chief, and a Trojan; but since I was 4 years old, I have always wanted to be a Raider – and now I finally get that chance!
I am so blessed to be the one chosen to lead this storied program with over a dozen state titles, and perennial district and regional championships. I follow in the footsteps of the great coaches (and all personal friends) who have built the legacy of this program – Jimmy Parmenter (@btaquatics_ne), Marty Grady, Nobutaka Tan, Dana Holmquist, and Alec Ford Wathen. I feel like I’ve been selected to anchor one of the best coaching relays in high school swimming and diving history!
I have special thanks for the whole STA family, especially athletic director Twan Russell for believing in me, as well as long-time (retired) AD and now consultant, George Smith for putting his faith in me.
I also have special appreciation for coaches Louise Crocco and Mike Morrill, my AD’s at Cardinal Gibbons for 19 years who mentored and taught this club swimming coach the importance and joy of being a part of the whole school and athletic program; giving well beyond just ourselves and our own sport.
I am so looking forward to working with water polo coaches Anna Rosen and Michael Goldenberg to create a supportive atmosphere that builds an overall aquatic program the likes of which the state of Florida has never seen.
Further, I am extremely excited to be in the center of the hot bed of South Florida’s awesome swimming and diving scene and working with all of my club coaching friends (that I shared the deck with for nearly 20 years) to give their athletes the chance for an amazingly cooperative experience to achieve all of their athletic goals and the opportunity for a great St Thomas Aquinas education.
Most importantly, I am looking forward to working with all of the STA athletes and families, as well as the entire staff and faculty at St Thomas to provide the happiest and most successful student-athlete experience for all of our team members!
