@jonnyburch@samhenrigold Ironically, web apps all nothing but models - css, html, and js are all well-defined grammars - yet an LLM is blind to them. An LLM - Claude Design perhaps - should be able to observe a visual design, map it to these underlying models and reason about that design.
@karrisaarinen Ironically, web apps are nothing but models - css, html, and js are all well-defined grammars (models) - yet the LLM blind to these models. An LLM should be able to observe a visual design and map it to these underlying models. It cannot.
@karrisaarinen No LLM is capable of reasoning about anything visual. There is no "model" of your app's screen. A screenshot is not a "model" of your app in a particular state. An LLM cannot critique a design. An LLM cannot assess flaws in a user-interaction scenerio. Nor suggest improvements.
@petroffm Hi Matthew,
I created - well me and my close friend Claude - a Claude Code skill based on Pannellum. It let's anyone display an interactive version of any panoramic image they have sitting around on their computer.
Check it out:

@thisisgrantlee Sadly, LLMs fundamental "blind spot" is reasoning about visual applications. They are next to useless. I create data-visualization apps - Spacewalk, JuiceboxJS, and IGVJS - and LLMs as a partner for iterating visual ideas, U/X, design tradeoffs, etc. offer nothing much.
@thehonestlypod@bariweiss@bungarsargon@BriannaWu I try very hard to really hear and take on board what @BUngarSargon is saying. But ultimately she comes across as almost completely detached from reality.
Her goals are spot on. It is not that I disagree with her. It is the bonkers way she processes information in front of her.
@IdaAuken Things to remember about Trump:
1) He is conflict averse and will back down when directly confronted
2) You are far stronger then he is
3) He is deeply insecure
Know this: Many, many Americans are with you and support you in this fight. Best of luck. ๐ฉ๐ฐ
@IdaAuken Thank you for this Ms. Auken. I am an American with close ties to Iceland and Denmark. I found you piece very moving. You so clearly articulate what the US has meant to your country. What we as Americans are clueless about. And what our Orange haired buffoon is tearing apart.
@rachel_l_woods I challenge the fundamental premise: that a non-deterministic piece of software can be used in any production environment. As a brainstorming assistant, yes of course. To build parts of a larger software tool/app, yes. This issue is the โman-in-the-loopโ challenge.
@RevolutApp I just received yet another automated response from your support email. As far as I can tell you have still not taken a single step to remove this fraudulent and illegally created account. Your company should be ashamed of the terrible way you treat your customers.
@RevolutApp Revolut has absolutely terrible customer service. I am trying to get a fraudulent account removed that using my business name and it is impossible to reach an actual human. Just inexcusable bad.
@JohnHMcWhorter Wow. Far and away the best and most compelling writing I think you have done. Just cuts through the haze of waffle words and cant brilliantly.
Congrats on your deep openness and honesty. Thank you John.
@thomaschattwill This just in: Tucker and Don have had a secret torrid love affair and plan to announce their marriage in the coming weeks. The are stepping back form the media world and become farmers in Vermont and raise sheep. ๐ฅฒ๐คฃ
@EdwardGLuce These new and popular LLM based machine learning tools are unusual - bizarre really - in that they are entirely built from the "raw material" human generated text. Our words repurposed. The response to your prompt in ChatGPT is fragments of previous human utterances.
