@DavidMacCdn I expect the objective of BoC (rather than a side effect) is a recession as it's the only way to take the corporate profiteering out of the system that's accounting for 20-30% of inflation right now. They can't do anything about cost of transportation.

@MeghanHollett Time - Forty minute commute to scarce childcare and then work (live and work in the city). Weather - In all seasons (sideways rain). Culture - Needing to arrive at work not a sweaty mess. More opportunities outside the commute to bike more though.
@cheron For sure. That’s the core of the issue. And hasn’t been as bad in Canada as in South Africa where Omicron put 9x as many <20 in hospital as the last Delta wave.
@ianrobbins1972 Definitely have friends keeping there’s home for that reason and then others that just don’t have that option. Great to see some teachers stepping up and offering hybrid. But not system wide for sure.
What about vaccines? When Pfizer was pushed back in December it was a hard hit. At the time they said up to six months for a new trial. Word is FDA May approve it in February, but Canada has been more conservative on approvals on the past. https://t.co/NGDAsi008O
@tara_bradbury We use KF94 under a cloth mask for quick stops and N99 by Vitacore for anything longer. Before Omicron we were using double cloth. With kids <5 masks are tough so we don't bring them anywhere. Would be good to see the province update mask guidance as others have done.
