@beesley_cathy Obviously he shops in very different places from me. While we have shopkeepers and staff of different backgrounds, they all speak English clearly even those for whom it is a second language. Where I shop, the people who serve are polite and helpful.

@RedLipRiots The reason why small butchers, greengrocers etc are gone is because people preferred to buy cheaper stuff at supermarkets. If you want shops to stay open, you have to spend your money there.

@chilternbear11 @carolvorders @LibDems That's not entirely true. The Tories running Surrey asked the government to cancel elections. The government agreed. People in Surrey were denied a chance to vote on the record of the current administration by both parties.

@petemorristwit The reason Americans wash chicken in chlorinated water is because of the way the birds are raised. It is a practice that would be unacceptable in the UK where we go for more humane farming although still not great. American birds are more prone to contamination.
