With expertise from @dulearning , Year 2 spent the afternoon learning all about the Great Fire of London. We learned about how historians at @durham_uni answer questions about the past using different sources like maps, Samuel Pepys’ diary and experimental archaeology. 🔥🪶

Here at the Oriental Museum we have spent the day putting on display our largest set of Hina dolls ready for the traditional Japanese Festival of Hina Matsuri. Here is the team creating the stage and decorating it then adding the emperor and empress and members of their court.

Today Year 2 had a visitor from @dulearning , who gave a workshop on The Great Fire Of London.
The pupils read maps, used quills to write down which five items they would save in a fire, put out imaginary fire with an old leather bucket and found out even more about the topic!
