@timelord29@BBCNews If you're in the UK then trespass is only a civil offence unless the following apply https://t.co/WGT7NCkUdO
Only "Unauthorised camper failing to comply with direction to leave" is relevant to wild camping too.
@UDisobedience@EliBlueYellow@guardian I also don't thinkπ·πΊ invaded because πΊπ¦ joining NATO was on the cards as it wasn't. Nor for territory
They did so because oil has been found near Kharkiv and Odessa. If πΊπ¦ was to develop them that would massively reduce πͺπΊs reliance on π·πΊ and remove the funds that pay his regime
@UDisobedience@EliBlueYellow@guardian But those territories aren't the extent of what π·πΊ wants
Putin fears having a prosperous democratic exSoviet countries on his doorstep as Russians will want that.
π·πΊ promised to observe πΊπ¦ sovereignty in the 90s. How do you ensure they keep that deal this time without NATO?
@UDisobedience@EliBlueYellow@guardian I agree. And I don't want to see πΊπ¦ used as a proxy for the west to take the damage of containing an increasing tyrannical π·πΊ for us...
But on the other hand I want see a πΊπ¦ that is democratic, safe and prosperous. And with π·πΊ as it is I can't see another way to guarantee that
@UDisobedience@EliBlueYellow@guardian He isn't crazy (though he has isolated himself from anyone who dares tell him uncomfortable truths)
Also, I want the war to stop as soon as it can too, just I am concerned that unless it's done from a position of strength no peace will be lasting when we are dealing with π·πΊ
@UDisobedience@EliBlueYellow@guardian@UDisobedience in the name of informed debate tho, tell me what ugly compromise you see as being available between πΊπ¦ and π·πΊ that won't break down into more fighting and bloodshed in short order?
And how would you stop Russia from breaking deals and reigniting the war in 5 years?
@UDisobedience@EliBlueYellow@guardian I mean, that's my point... And without our support π·πΊ will keep attacking until πΊπ¦ is no more. Causing massive bloodshed and bringing tyranny to millions
If we want to minimise harm we have to support πΊπ¦, containing the war to where it is until π·πΊ realises it's not worth it
@UDisobedience@EliBlueYellow@guardian π Or, do what we are already doing and keep supplying Ukraine so Putin's army is stopped from subjugating the entire country.
@UDisobedience@EliBlueYellow@guardian And you trust Putin not to use a compromise to rearm and reorganize to finish job?
He'll only stop if he's made to stop.
And you better believe that any peace negotiation would have no NATO entry for Ukraine right at the top so Russia could invade again making more destruction
@Z132tGiorgio@guardiannews Unfortunately neither side wants to negotiate yet
For Putin his regime is on the line with this war and he won't accept anything he can't sell as a victory (at huge cost to Ua)
And for Ukraine that means giving up things that we have no right to bargain for on their behalf
@mittfh @Z132tGiorgio@guardiannews And even if they did make that agreement as a Ukrainian you'd know it was only a matter of time before they rearmed and reorganized to finish this job.
Putin only understands one language. Either he's forced so stop, or he won't stop. Nothing is sacrosanct to him
@JordiGeordie@simon_evo@MeatLinc@MrKennethClarke@MerylWardLincs Supermarkets aren't paying the cost of produce for anyone: EU or UK farmers.
Given that, it makes even less sense for EU farmers (who supply most of our out of season veg) to try and sell to the UK because of the huge import cost. So instead all their produce is going to Europe.
@Chrisobehotmai1 @PolitlcsUK@AdamBienkov On the recent increase of violence, yes that is an issue, but focused in MalmΓΆ and some of Stockholm. Hopefully the politicians will get their fingers out and clamp down on it.
In any case, where I'm living in the north is very safe.
@Chrisobehotmai1 @PolitlcsUK@AdamBienkov On SA the numbers aren't very directly comparable to other countries
Reporting rates are much higher as the culture and police are more supportive of victims and convictions are also higher due to broader definitions of rape
Adjusted for that Sweden is on par with Europe
@nickartfully @PolitlcsUK@AdamBienkov A great many brexit voting MPs have suddenly obtained Irish passports π
That said, it is still possible to emigrate without FoM, but it is more expensive, harder and much less secure when you're there.
@simon_evo@MeatLinc@MrKennethClarke@MerylWardLincs Supermarkets are refusing to pay the foods worth because the cost of exporting to the UK has shot up.
It costs lots to get the new certifications and paperwork done and keep the food fresh whilst it's sitting for days waiting to be cleared at customs in Calais.
