@SalazarCOficial@ZeldaUniverse I'm fully prepared that it's going to be both. A lazy, borderline 1-1 remake with most of the grit and dark themes stripped from it.
@Quote31490249@FERMOR_23@ZeldaUniverse Eh... I don't want them to throw in BoTW open-world slop, but a lot of OoT's mechanics & elements are completely outdated.
Hyrule Field, the camera and the base combat mechanics just don't cut it by today's standards, period.
@PhotonWolfsky@Palworld_EN Honestly we should definitely get the option to do both. Either a square or circular shape. IMO it's one of the essential things they need to do for this release, along with fixing the combat AI & improving optimization issues for console and multiplayer.
@TheAziH I do want that though. I wouldn't even mind them altering the dungeons quite a bit, as long as it results in expanded content.
I just don't want them fucking up the tone and atmosphere - which is what they're already doing if that awful teaser trailer was anything to go by.
@CanalZenkai If it's literally a month before its alleged release in November, then that does NOT bode well for the game.
When Nintendo isn't confident in a mediocre or outright bad product, they often refuse to promote or advertise it until the last minute.
@SlavenHarkin@nstt_399 Honestly I'm inclined to agree.
Yeah they're insanely polished, but at the end of the day both the CN fan bases & the CCP are kind of batshit insane and completely destroy these IPs from the inside-out due to their behavior. If only Japan would step up their game in this regard.
@DavidDa00361728@PyleAllen@milsim020 Many of their big 1st party titles - World, ToTK, Metroid Prime 4, ACNH, Pikmin 4 etc. suffer from horrendous game design decisions.
Majority of their games these days get review scores that vary between the 70's & low 80's. The only solid exceptions being DK Bananza & Pokopia.
@PyleAllen@milsim020 Financially they're doing fine.. But outside of that, they're attempting to patent basic game mechanics, suing people left & right, ripping off consumers with overpriced games & hardware, and the general quality of their games have taken a massive nosedive since covid.
@ZeldaAnecdotes For me, it was the story dropping off a cliff halfway through, as well as the lack of interesting side quests & nonexistent itemization use for those specific quests.
@CanalZenkai Yeah, kinda.
Unlike Star Fox, the the majority of OoT's mechanics don't hold up that well anymore. The combat & camera need a ground-up rework at the minimum, and the OG Hyrule Field doesn't pass today's open-world standards.
@SimoQB_@AlbarnsDemon GTA.
If they want to compete with GTA this fall, they'll have to make some sacrifices.
That or the remake will be some half-assed effort like the 3DS remaster was.
