@GrumpyTwit99@ClaireCoutinho@rcolvile Man who knows nothing about the grid proceeds to tell us how dumb he is 👏
Minor problem of hydrogen leaking out of existing pipes and most devices not being suitable but nice try
@ArmstrongT97969@DanNeidle SCoP should be 3.5-4.5 for a correctly designed, installed and commissioned HP
Overnight electric cost is not the same as day, if you correctly schedule the timing / heat water overnight then 30-40% of yearly power requirement can be at low rates often the same price as gas
@Rabelt5645@7Kiwi Batteries are already being built on merchant profiles, time shifting of renewables and provision of grid services being enough to provide good payback
Good job people that have a better grasp of basic finances than you get to make the decisions
@ClaireCoutinho A breach of operating reserve / constraint standards is not the same as a stat limit excursion. No demand was disconnected, frequency stayed within stat 49.5–50.5 Hz, and no circuits were overloaded
The system remained within Stat limits
@mattyg2040032@HaveringDaily Grass fire around a shed full of fertiliser, there’s a reason IRA used to use fertiliser as base for their bombs, the Beruit explosion was 2750tonnes of ammonium nitrate (fertiliser) this was a lot smaller
@RichardLyon_ ‘Quietly closed’ as though it didn’t just end
Doubling down on the garbage I see, the LoDES innovation trial is a different scheme to the LDES Cap and Floor scheme
And yes some of the LoDES (wk/mon) types did make the LDES (8-22hr) anyway, CAES and Flow battery
@RichardLyon_ Absolute garbage, the LoDES scheme was planned to end, it was a 2-3yr scheme with a 2yr monitoring period after completion
LoDES was looking at FOAK designs and is completed
The LDES scheme is the next phase with awards due in Q3
