Cobh Ramblers FC can confirm that after Friday night’s game against Cork City FC, @jasonabbo39 will depart from our Men’s First Team squad.
It is an extraordinary thing for one person to have a profound impact on, not just people, not just a club, but an entire town and a community. A captain and a leader, Abbo has worn our badge with an exemplary level of pride and distinction, the standard bearer for all the others who have done so during his 200+ match tenure. The heartbeat of our club, you will be sorely missed and never forgotten 💜🩵
From Men’s First Team Manager Fran Rockett, “Abbo has been an outstanding servant to Cobh Ramblers, giving everything to the club with professionalism, commitment and humility throughout his career. It has been a privilege to have coached him and to have managed him, and his leadership, character and selflessness have left a lasting mark on everyone around him. On behalf of everyone at the club, I want to thank Abbo for his incredible contribution and wish him every success and happiness in the next chapter.”
From Director of Football Conor Meade, “As Jason moves on to pursue his managerial career, we thank him for his outstanding commitment and look forward to continuing to support his development as a coach in the next chapter of his journey.”
From all of us, we wish you all the best, and you will always be a Ram.

The U17s kicked off their Tier One campaign away to Dundalk at Oriel Park this afternoon and produced an excellent, disciplined performance to earn a deserved 2–0 victory and a clean sheet.
Ethan O’Donovan broke the deadlock in first-half injury time with a superb curling effort that found the far corner beyond the Dundalk goalkeeper.
Just three minutes into the second half, Berkley Arrey doubled the lead with a well-taken strike across the goalkeeper to make it 2–0.
The team maintained their focus and defensive discipline throughout, seeing out the game comfortably to secure an impressive opening-day win.🔵🟣

🤝 Incredible Support from @irishredcross 🔴⚪
We are absolutely thrilled to announce a fantastic gesture from the Irish Red Cross, who have kindly sponsored a brand-new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for our defibrillator station located at the main entrance to St. Colman’s Park!
As our resident ambulance providers for home matchdays, the Irish Red Cross are a vital part of the Cobh Ramblers family. This life-saving equipment is not just a massive asset to the club, but to the entire local community. We are incredibly proud to host this station at our grounds to help keep everyone safe.
A massive thank you to Adam Foley, Unit Officer for the Red Cross, who was absolutely instrumental in organizing this donation. We are deeply grateful for your continued dedication and support! 🙌
