Russia supports adding Brazil and India as permanent members of the UN Security Council, silent on Africa, although some Western countries are supporting Kenya, and opposes addition of Germany and Japan as permanent members.

In his #UNGA81 speech, Russian FM Sergey Lavrov again calls on India and Brazil to be added as permanent members of UNSC. And adds: "cannot involve any additional seats being allocated to Western countries, especially to Germany and Japan, who are now on the path to militarism and revisionism."

On the race for the new UN Secretary General (of which Russia has great power to decide since it's one of the P5) he said Moscow supports someone who shows "impartiality and equidistance," will "represent the entire international community instead of serving the interests of some states," and won't "dilute the prerogatives of the Security Council and its permanent members."

Sergey Lavrov is holding talks with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings. Maria Zakharova stated that the German side was the one that requested the meeting.

This is the first meeting between the Russian and German foreign ministers since 2022.

Woke up in Bushenyi and decided to do a walk around. I met an old man who has shared with me how his farming has made him progress. He has a shamba full of matoke. Unfortunately for him, the rains are causing havoc on his plantation.
He saves with a Sacco called Mushanga and through this, he is able to educate his family and afford the fine things in life.
I have picked notes to share with my Lira comrades.

On a side note, these Bushenyi people build palaces. Eh!!
