Recently watched his illuminating if at times strangely edited doc about Parliament Funkadelic and George Clinton's extreme exploitation of all involved. rip
Cailee Spaeny reveals the advice she received from Glenn Close ahead of the ‘Alien: Romulus’ premiere:
“I was nervous and I sent you guys a photo in the group chat and [Glenn] wrote the best thing ever. She said, “You look gorgeous. Pretend you’re a queen from a foreign land in the country whose young king you have come to marry. You are gracious, open—or seemingly open—mesmerizing and smart. But you have a hidden trove of wonderful secrets that all those surrounding you will never know.””

ICE is pulling children off the street and taking them god knows where. They want us to look away. They want us to let it become normal. Listen to this brave woman try to get a name from this child to alert her family. Think about how depraved this is.
@ThatchEffendi@sethiankit The framing device is a discussion she's having with the doctor when he visits the house during the last time we see her make him sick in the movie, he's still very much alive - she even talks about the possibility of his dying and how that would be OK, but he's not dead
If you were not freaked out when college students were getting disappeared by masked federal agents for writing op-eds why are you surprised about Kimmel?
in a 1991 interview, actress joan fontaine (rebecca, suspicion) spoke out against computers colorizing b&w films because it redesigns a reality that isn’t what the film makers carefully crafted and intended. what a timely reminder as AI attempts to do the same today to classics!
@coopercooperco Really interesting how Smashing Machine has the much grainier look of their earlier Daddy Longlegs-esque stuff, while Marty Supreme seems to much more resemble Good Time and Uncut Gems - for superficial reasons I had expected it to be the other way round
