@revrichardjames Some very well made points in this article. The challenge is how can the church teach about marriage in a much better and more comprehensive way - something that has been significantly absent in our nation.
@revrichardjames “How did entire populations become afraid to speak”. This of course applies to the church especially with regard to the benefits of heterosexual marriage and family life.
@revrichardjames Interesting article with some good questions posed to churches. In recent years it seems to me that church has failed to promote marriage for various reasons connected with fear.
@revrichardjames I’m of an age where traditions hold to a degree so I go on a Sunday “smart casual” which is more formal than some. Oh and I always like to make sure my shoes are clean!
@revrichardjames Another illustration of just how much the church has declined in the area of marriage. Janice and I continue to encourage church leaders to reach out to civil wedding couples with marriage preparation but few leaders listen! The average church - one wedding a year.
@revrichardjames Having been in the CofE, I miss the liturgy somewhat but there is vibrant spiritual life outside in my experience of the FIEC. The "enduring" process will be protracted and painful I imagine. Wishing you and HT Norwich the very best. Blessings. Duncan
@Stirling_Albion Disappointing that you use the blasphemy OMG in this post. I am a Binos fan of many years (but live in England now) and was absolutely delighted with the goal. Could you omit that from future posts - that would be great.
