BREAKING: Mallory McMorrow just took to the Senate floor and destroyed Donald Trump for holding the housing bill hostage. Every American needs to watch this speech.
This is not looking good, given Venezuela’s weakened public health infrastructure from past earthquakes in the region, I would worry about cholera, typhoid and other enteric bacteria, hepatitis A, measles, vector borne illnesses for those homeless and sleeping outdoors. But cholera would be my big worry
You now what did have a cut in it that was caused by some sort of ‘vandalism’? The rotor blade of the rental helicopter carrying Trump’s casino executives back from a press conference he summoned them to in NYC in 1989. They all died and mystery was never solved.
Chris Hayes: You were detained for 5 hours during this arrest?
Hearn: Yes. I was in the lockup. I was photographed, fingerprinted, and not allow to make a phone call. No, nobody knew I was there. I was held that whole time, was never read my rights.
For the people questioning my experience: I’ve spent 30+ years as a DC9 union painter working around steel, bridges, industrial coatings, epoxy systems, primers, grinding, and surface preparation.
That’s me working on the side of the Verrazzano Bridge, and volunteering at the MLK Center painting structural steel.
I’m not claiming to be the contractor on the Reflecting Pool I’m saying coating failures leave clues. Large sheets lifting off point to adhesion, prep, moisture, primer compatibility, application, or cure issues that should be independently inspected.

As a DC9 union painter with 30+ years in coatings, I’m looking at the failure not a conspiracy theory.
When a coating is lifting off in large sheets like this, that points to an adhesion failure: improper surface preparation, contamination left behind, the wrong coating system, poor recoat timing, or water introduced before the system fully cured.
A quality two-part epoxy system can perform well but the product is only as good as the prep and application. The substrate has to be properly profiled/cleaned, the specified primer or first coat applied correctly, recoat windows followed, and the full system allowed to cure before being put back into service.
That is not “vandals.” That is a coating failure that deserves a real independent inspection and an explanation of exactly what system was specified and how it was applied.

No problem with a governor praying to whatever god he worships but there is a minimal amount of education required to understand weather and climate and most high school seniors would have that minimal amount.
Three days ago we gathered in the Capitol to pray for agriculture, in a year when farmers and ranchers have dealt with drought, fires, floods, and wind.
We specifically prayed for rain.
This is Nebraska rainfall in the days that followed.
Prayer works, and we need more of it.
The Lessons I Learned from My Dad
I am not the man my father is.
I am trying. Some days closer. Some days farther.
He never sat me down and explained these lessons. He lived them. I’m still learning them.
Show up.
The kitchen table. The hospital room. The funeral. The picket line. The call from the son who won’t answer.
Show up.
Most days that’s the whole job.
My whole life I watched him do it. Not for cameras. Not for headlines. Not because there was something in it for him. He showed up because someone needed him.
I learned that grief doesn’t make you special.
My father buried a wife and daughter. He buried a son. Yet he never treated grief as a claim on other people’s sympathy. Instead, it made him notice theirs.
A mother who lost a child. A father sitting beside a hospital bed. A kid scared about what comes next. A son who lost his mother, his sister, his brother.
He always noticed.
I learned that power is not the point.
The people who chase power eventually confuse the office with themselves.
My father never did.
Whether he was a county councilman, a senator, vice president, or president, he was the same man.
The title changed.
He didn’t.
I learned that family comes first.
The train from Wilmington wasn’t symbolism.
It was every night.
He read to us. Showed up to games. Sat through hospital rooms. Waited up for children who were lost.
And when the day came that the country and the family could not both have him at full strength, he chose family. He relinquished the last chapter of how he wanted to be remembered. And he never complained about it.
Most of all, I learned that love is not soft.
Love is discipline.
Love is showing up at one in the morning when nobody is watching.
Love is answering the phone.
Love is staying.
Love is getting back up after life knocks you down and doing it all again tomorrow.
That love saved my life.
I’ve failed at many of these lessons, sometimes in very public ways.
He loved me anyway.
That’s the last lesson.
I am not trying to become my father.
I am trying to carry what he gave me.
And if I can do that, even imperfectly, that will be enough.
Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I love you.
Found an imaginary problem, said only they could fix it, didn’t listen to experts, hired buddies who grifted millions, failed miserably, bragged how great it went.
The entire Trump presidency in a nutshell.

🚨 TRUMP SPARKS DIPLOMATIC CRISIS WITH ITALY: Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has canceled his planned June 21–22 trip to Washington after President Trump insulted Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, claiming she “begged” for a photo with him at the G7 and that he “felt sorry for her.”
Meloni released a video firing back at Trump’s comments, calling them “completely fabricated.”
“I am frankly appalled,” she said. “I don’t know why the President of the United States behaves this way towards his allies.”
She added that Trump appears to show more accommodation toward “the enemies of the West” than America’s allies and concluded by saying: “Italy and I never beg.”
Stevie Wonder took the stage at the Obama Presidential Center dedication.
The guest list already included presidents, prime ministers, and world leaders.
Then Stevie showed up.
Some events become cultural moments, not just political ones.
Michelle Obama: I'm going to take a little time to do something that I know my husband will not do today, and that is to fully sing his praises. Barack, you gotta look at me
Barack Obama: No. I’m going to look down.
