The messages of this conference and the Spirit of the Lord have inspired all of us to consecrate our worship, focus our learning, and unite our testimonies on the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Father’s plan for our eternal increase and joy.
As we look forward, we welcome the world, in person or virtually, to the Salt Lake Temple Celebration. On April 5, 2027, the temple doors will open to the public—the first such opening since 1893.

Welcome to General Conference.
In the Conference Center, a new statue titled Christ Visits the Americas, by sculptor Michael Hall, portrays the moment the Savior first appears to the people, as told in 3 Nephi 11.
In that account, God the Father introduces His Son, Jesus Christ:
"Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name—hear ye him."
Today and tomorrow, you're invited to do just that. Through messages delivered by prophets, apostles, and other inspired leaders, General Conference provides an opportunity for you to hear God's voice—wherever you are.
Conference begins at 10 a.m. MT. Watch on https://t.co/xKCj6L1iHH.

I felt the light of Christ in the young single adults who participated in the recent Cities of Light YSA Conference in New York City.
As I spoke with them, I reminded them that the Lord needs their light wherever He leads them. He needs their faith, goodness, education, skills, moral courage, and willingness to stand as His witnesses.
As we remain anchored in Christ, He can use us as steady lights in places only we can reach. This was an important message I shared during my remarks, and it is true for each of us.
We may not always recognize the good we do, but as we choose the Savior, honor our covenants, and love His children, His light will shine through us. It can offer direction, safety, and hope to those seeking a place of security in a changing world.
For the first time in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, more than 90,000 missionaries are now serving throughout the world.
The milestone was announced this week as the number of young women serving as full-time missionaries — over 30,000 — became the largest cohort of sister missionaries ever in the Church’s history.
These missionaries serve in more than 500 missions around the world, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, serving in local communities and inviting others to come unto Christ.

“Speaking for my own Church, the U.S. Constitution is of special importance to our members. We have a revelation that identifies the Constitution as divinely inspired. This does not mean that every word is inspired, but that it is based on inspired principles.”
—President Dallin H. Oaks, “Faith, Freedom, and the Common Good,” National Cathedral, Washington, D.C.
As a Latter-day Saint, what does it mean to have your faith in Jesus Christ and your devotion to the restored gospel settled in your heart?
For me, it means that you have spiritually weighed the blessings and sacrifices of following Jesus Christ and exercising your precious will and agency, you have determined, you have chosen in your mind and spirit, that this will absolutely be the path your life will take.
How does this amazing choice and decision lift us, enrich us, and help us to be who we want to be? As we “settle this in our hearts” (JST Luke 14:27–28) we absolutely trust in our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ.
I shared this with students at a BYU Devotional, but the principle applies to each of us.
When a heart willingly and completely, on its own, without compulsion, turns the key of consecration, a door of freedom and spiritual power is opened. We are given a heavenly conferral, a greater vision of our purpose here on earth, a sustained ability to feel and to know, and an added abundance of spiritual gifts.
When you decide to follow Jesus Christ, it is not because it is the easiest choice, the default option, or the path of least resistance.
That would prove nothing about you or about the virtues of His gospel.
At some point in every human life, you get the opportunity to show, by your choices, what really matters to you. You get to
demonstrate just how much you love God and how earnestly you want to be with Him.
Last week, Harriet and I were thrilled to speak at the Provo Missionary Training Center with our remarkable missionaries—including our wonderful grandson Niklas—who are showing their love for God by choosing to serve others as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
For each of us who serves Jesus Christ, we get to demonstrate, by our consistent choices, that we believe in what we are building and that it will be monumental, even majestic.
Never be weary of well-doing. Instead, be joyful, be grateful, rejoice in the freedom to choose this wonderful work.
Many years ago, I was first counselor to a district president in the eastern United States. More than once, as we were driving to our little branches, he said to me, “Hal, when you meet someone, treat them as if they were in serious trouble, and you will be right more than half the time.”
The Lord has opportunities near you to feel and to share His love. You can pray with confidence for the Lord to lead you to love someone for Him.
As you do so, you will feel the love of God for you and for the person you serve for Him. When you help others in their troubles, your own will seem lighter and your faith and hope will be strengthened.

As we celebrate the renovation of the Salt Lake Temple, I am filled with gratitude as I consider Isaiah’s prophetic vision of people from every nation flowing to the house of the Lord (Isaiah 2:2).
In preparation for this special occasion, I invite you to worship in your own temple and recommit yourself to the covenants and principles taught within its sacred walls.
President Timothy L. Farnes, Young Men general president, speaks about preparing for each Sunday lesson ahead of time, so the discussion becomes livelier and more engaging. He teaches from the scriptures and describes what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Listen to the full conversation on the Church News podcast feed.
