He/Him | SSBU Shulk | Guy who plays games and reads Web Novels, but currently a Math PHD student. I play fighting games, a lot, and play Monster Hunter, a lot.
@Gmaniacalt In his defense, he enjoyed Xenoblade 2 during the Covid years where many vocal XC1 fans were teaming up with JRPG haters to criticize the game in the dumbest ways possible. Xenoblade 1 is one of my favorite games, but some people were so annoying that I got why he downplayed it.
@TeddyDemonLiker At its core, the biggest difference is that If you’re lost in XC1’s systems you can find answers in the game, but if you’re lost in XC2 you have to find a guide online explaining things cause the game doesn’t have a tutorial menu
@TeddyDemonLiker 1 has in game tutorials explaining systems in game, heck it even has in game guides on how to play the characters in the game and you can open and read them at any time. 2 has occasional pop-up tutorial text that doesn’t explain systems properly and that you can’t re-open later.
@karmaopg7 Xenoblade 3 lowkey becomes a better game the more you ponder the purpose of your life and the eternal struggle of trying to change yourself at the risk of leaving your comfort zone. The fact that "Mio" sounds like "Meow" and she's a cat-girl also improves the gameplay experience.
@ExclCross Another issue is a combination of:
1) Many newer players only use Shulk (mainly a physical attacker) while neglecting the accurate Ether attackers like Sharla and Melia
2) They don't make Gems or get quest/trade gems (not having access to agility gems)
3) no money = no equipment
@ExclCross There is actually a reason for this occurrence that's rarely mentioned. Most generic NPC quests like 'monster quest 1' do not give any EXP (You get some from the monster, unless you are over leveled) and thus some players think they are 'doing the quests' while not leveling
@HatzlRaphael@saltshaken Expert mode has no effect on gameplay and only stores EXP for you to freely use whenever. Because of that, it actually nets you more EXP by keeping you lower leveled against enemies, meaning more EXP, AP, and SP rewards. Btw, you can max level, then unlevel back to get new Arts.
One of the world's most famous trees has died after standing in England's Sherwood Forest for around 1,000 years
The 'Major Oak' tree, famously linked to Robin Hood, failed to produce leaves this year after years of heat and drought
@saltshaken@encore_elsyee Melia's playstyle is using the blue summon buttons for elementals that give buffs while active and then 'discharging' them with the talent art, which also charges it up. Melia will have an alternative to Monado Purge that you can use when the talent art is in its maxed out state.
@saltshaken@encore_elsyee People here have already pointed out how to differentiate "Named NPC" Quests and "Non-named NPC" Generic quests so I'll give some advice unrelated to grinding. Play Melia instead of Shulk here, maybe even swap Shulk for Sharla. "Ether" attacks which Melia uses are very accurate
So to a player who views all quests equally, XC1 seems like it is filled with generic 'monster quest 3' type fetch quests while the neat Named NPC quests with storylines get lumped in with them. Meanwhile, X just shoves these generic quests in the BLADE Terminal, separating them.
I personally love both of them, but I think that there is actually a logical reason for this. Many people playing Xenoblade 1 treat all quests equally, not separating them into "Generic NPC" Quests like 'Collection quest 2' and "Named NPC" Quests, which affect the affinity chart
@HxPunisher@SuperSavajin I think Xenoblade 1 has the best polished gameplay in the series? Every character has a very different gameplay style, and there's clear intention in the Arts they are given along with the Skills in the skill trees. Chain attacks feel quick and snappy to use in combat as well.
@EndlesbianNow Ok, but they knew it was fucked up and created material tickets to let you buy any monster drop you want. Now the guy who created the Collectopedia items and made it so some items only spawn in specific weather, certain times of day, and only in specific areas. They're true evil
@younghavok My favorite thing about Xenoblade 1 isn't even the story or anything. It's how all the systems in the game are connected to other systems and have a purpose. From collectables, to gifting and trading, to affinity, which together connect to Collectopedia rewards and chain attacks.
@RWBYpro03@blue__jest When the drama is years old microwaved leftovers and not a new fine course drama meal with a different plotline. We truly live in the endless now
@linkkling Because Xenoblade is a Nintendo game on Nintendo consoles only, there is a large amount of PC MMO players who have never found out about how the game is pretty much a perfect single player MMO experience, and I think that's a shame.
@Slappy422 Each game has cool big red swords that I wish I could swing around in real life, with the only exception of Xenoblade X which has cool mechs instead.
