@FartonFink Had this experience at an Alamo drafthouse of all places. Someone began snoring LOUDLY within the first 15 minutes. Happened again 10 minutes later. In the last half someone had a coughing fit so bad someone stage whispered “Jesus christ!” which felt very on the nose.

@mangiotto The day before I saw smile 2 I watched “The Vigil” a 2019 indie horror movie about an ex-orthodox Jew sitting as a shomer for a deceased holocaust survivor. I was honestly shocked at some of the similarities between the two movies. Might be worth a watch if you haven’t seen it!

@JennyENicholson @peek_pdx I have XM4’s (or rather my spouse does and I use them occasionally) and they 100% hurt my ears after 30-45 minutes. I’ve tried making them more snug so they rest on my head and not my ears but it doesn’t seem to help much.

@jessicobra If I weren’t already cracked and out, the fact that I clocked this movie in the first 30 seconds would have done the trick (broken social scene, pink blue and white coloring, repeating whispers of “they can’t hurt you if you don’t think about them” is a pretty obvious combo)

While buying a visor at Daiso in musashi-koyama there was a chronological lineup of forgotten umbrellas hanging next to the cashier, each marked w/ the date it was left behind. I had to stop myself from finding the oldest one, lest I think of the parallels to @108 & start crying

@davidehrlich The Terror and Chernobyl came out one year apart and somehow we only heard about Chernobyl at the time? What a couple years Harris had. Watched the terror last year, immediately read the book, then immediately rewatched the show. A masterpiece.

@mangiotto Annihilation is hard to top, but I will never forget seeing Men alone in a theater, watching Jessie Buckley singing with her echos in a tunnel and thinking “this sounds like tintinnabulation” then hearing the diegetic sounds fade into music by Arvo Pärt. 10/10 movie moment.
