Georgia and Renfrew are both way too wide. It encourages fast and reckless driving, in a very residential neighbourhood. Cars going up onto sidewalks and into buildings is becoming a daily occurrence in Vancouver. We need to fix this.
E-cargo bikes are allowing people to replace car trips and spend more time having fun with their families. Can’t wait for our e-cargo bike program to launch soon, so anyone can try one! #northvan
Do you really get to decide the kind of place you want to live in? Let’s look at five ways Americans tell everyone how they have to live. Hint: it’s less about arrogance and more about ignorance. 🧵
Fascinating read on the politics that enabled the New Zealand land use reforms. Especially interesting from the perspective of recent reforms in BC. And the central insight that breaking through NIMBY opposition requires intervention by higher levels of government.
Outstanding thread. Worth your time to read.
Well done @clmarohn - thank you! 👏👏👏
Municipal zoning = a planned economy = not a free market = not freedom.
It's bizarre that so many on "the right" have been so hoodwinked they don't see it's actually what they advocate for.

@luke_levenson If you’re the musician, with songs like “Lay Me Down” - I love your music - thank you!
I really like “Cold in Amarillo” from this video, and wonder where I can find it? It’s not on Apple Music currently that I can find. Thank you!!! https://t.co/F8fuoe5fS6
Hi @NVanDistrict
DNV owned property at 1200 Lynn Valley Road has inadequate & substandard bike parking. Suggest allocating car/truck space to bike racks at foot of stairs. Bike parking should be visible for safety and obvious. Photos show the lack.

How do Dutch engineers find so much space for multi-modal transport?
They question every car lane—knowing a road’s capacity isn’t determined by its width, but by its intersections. Get the junction design right, and one lane can move as many cars as two.

Hello @nvanrcmp and @CityOfNorthVan
Is this video enough to fine & ticket this driver for unsafe & aggressive driving?

Not to get too tin-foil hat, but…
Bad actors? Foreign governments planting seeds to influence upcoming elections?
FB tools for reporting scammy seeming “communities” on FB messenger are not good.
Has tripped my radar…
Thanks for any time you spend on it.
Best wishes!
Hi @j_mcelroy a potential local gov/community story for you.
A scammy seeming Facebook “community” started by an ‘AstroTurf’ looking person. Are similar ‘FB messenger communities’ being created across Canada?

That 30 min walk from the transit stop deterred me from taking transit, but wished I had for the dedicated bus lane - for me and for others.
All good, and no doubt tricky. Hopefully a helpful suggestion.
Hi @transitapp
Multi-modal trip suggestion, not sure how hard it is.
For this trip, last night in heavy bridge traffic, I wish it had suggested bus to a little further downtown (2 more stops) and then taxi/lyft/uber from downtown.
