Former Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee Chairman Techi Puru, along with Tana Tamar and Sol Dodum, who were earlier detained under the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (#APUAPA), and the family members of 19-year-old Gomchu Yekar, #demanded that IAS officer #TaloPotom be remanded to 14 days of #policecustody. Yekar, who died by #suicide, had named Potom and an engineer, Likwang Lowang, in his suicide note.
Puru questioned why former ICR Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom was not summoned by the court earlier when news about the impersonation of a sub-magistrate surfaced in the media.
It was alleged that the IAS officer had recruited 19-year-old Gomchu Yekar as a sub-magistrate to conduct night patrols at #IGPark in #Itanagar.
Yekar’s #suicide note mentioned alleged intimate relationships, claims of manipulation, financial assurances, and subsequent threats. Potom has denied any wrongdoing.
