We have a once-in-a-generation chance to make Toronto's only national park better — and we already own the land https://t.co/ylGv4VrTxn via @torontostar#cdnpoli
On day 1 of my high school history class, our professor got up and said
You are 15 or 16 years old. 200 years ago people your age were married, planted crops, had children, and built a cabin by winter. You can do your homework. The bar set for you historically is embarrassingly low. You are not dealing with regional famine or plague. You do not have to save your family from marauders or go into battle to destroy your enemies. You have to sit down and learn from someone who cares about you in a safe, air-conditioned room. You have no excuses.
Sigh. Ontario has officially REPEALED the entire Endangered Species Act, ending all recognition or protection for endangered fish & birds, & ceding all responsibility to the federal Government.
The good news? @JulieDebrusin can fix it with a penstroke!

A fluffy bear floating through the water in search of fish.
Bears can float due to their thick layers of fat, which is less dense than water. Brown bears accumulate extra body fat during fall, allowing them to float while "snorkeling" for salmon.
This phenomenon is called shimmering. Giant honeybees use it to confuse predators (like wasps).
By moving their abdomens and wings in perfect unison, they create this defensive optical illusion.
🚨 UNITED PASSENGER CATCHES INSANE NASA ROCKET LAUNCH FROM PLANE WINDOW — FLIGHT ATTENDANT LOSES IT MID-AIR
A United flight just turned into a front-row seat to history.
A woman captures the exact moment NASA’s Artemis II rocket launches… straight from her window at 30,000 feet.
And then you hear the flight attendant:
“15 years of flying… I’ve been praying to see something like this.”
• Rocket blasting through the clouds
• Crew calling it a “once in a lifetime” moment
He said he flew to Florida multiple times just to see a launch…
Canceled. Every time.
And then this happens midair.
What are the chances you randomly look out your window… and see history taking off?

It’s true, an Elephant never forgets 🐘.
This is Darrick Thompson. He left his career as a Toronto firefighter to devote his life to caring for Elephants at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand. He had to leave them for 14 months due to a family emergency. He couldn't have expected this upon returning.
