AI has inspired me. And also freaked me out. How do humans compete with machines. And how will STORY change because of it?

Consider: 30+% of chats on ChatGPT contain fiction.

So, AI doesn't just compete with CREATING media...books, say, or films. It's also a media itself.

I call it a strange loop. The first media that loops back to consume the media that came before.

I used to design story experiences with Bluetooth beacons. I've built stories in virtual worlds. Oh, and CD-ROMs lol...dates me.

Designing the EXPERIENCE of a story has been most of my career.

And today, it feels like the doors on experience design have blown open. Now even smaller creators can focus not only on the media-based story, but the experience layer itself.
