A data center is almost comically tame as industry goes. No smokestacks. No ore piles. No molten steel. No freight trains of coal. Mostly a very large box containing computers, electrical equipment, cooling systems, and an expensive humming noise. And even this is apparently too industrial for us.
@JCManson I remember thinking this was just the very beginning of the good days. Didn't think we would be out of them until we had at least one natty or two.
@antoniogm Agreed. Do love my F-150 lightning for the pickup truck thing. Although well, as much as I want to get my wife a Tesla, the ev9 has just enough space for the kiddos and accoutrements.
@antoniogm I've always found it odd that it seems like only in the US has the sport latched onto the trendy locales (Portland ) and the minds of the lefties when it's not really like that anywhere else. That being said this year's world cup has been a blast.
One of the IQ tests in the discourse is whether you think @FukuyamaFrancis is a discredited naïf or a prescient, cynical genius, because you actually read past the title ‘End of History’ through 30 chapters of reinterpreted Hegel and Nietzsche and got to the devastating conclusion.
@JesseHughesNC This is why I think opposing viewpoints are so important. It sounds wishy-washy, but I still think that both sides were correct to a certain extent and that the moderating effect of both sides on the other is useful and necessary.
