Byram just needed opportunity. With the hawks he will get pp #1 and play close to 25 minutes a game. Byram got 40 points last year playing behind Dahlen and Powers

At some point, you need to go for it and acquire talent.

Now that I slep on it I love the Bowen Byram trade.

The tear-down and tank phase of the rebuild is officially over.

We complained about the neverending rebuild.

We complained about finishing 31st over and over and over again.

We complained about Kyle not bringing in any young stars but old washed up leftovers.

This trade answers all of that.

We have a young core that we believe in, and Byram is the FIRST PIECE of the construction around them.

He is still super young, but already experienced with almost 400 NHL games played, including being a proven impact player in the playoffs.

His name is on the Stanley Cup and he was a factor in winning it.

Most importantly, he helps us next year. He will unlock offense off the blue line.

We have been addicted to getting high picks and the adrenaline of the draft.

It's time to get addicted to winning more games, and pushing against the wild card spot.

Bowen Byram will help us do that NEXT YEAR.

Not in 4 years.

Obviously, we need more players on the wing. Our team has holes.

But the rebuild is finally in ACTUAL build phase now.

I am very happy where we are.
