That's us! 🌍
The Artemis II crew captured beautiful, high-resolution images of our home planet during their journey to the Moon. As @Astro_Christina put it: "You guys look great."
Read an interesting piece recently about how AI doomerism benefits AI tech firms the most- nothing like the scary future of omnipresent AI that they keep "warning" about to get more investors onboard.
To be clear: this is not a good future. But spare me the crocodile tears 💀
🚨 Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei: “We are so close to these models reaching the level of human intelligence, and yet there doesn't seem to be a wider recognition in society of what's about to happen … There hasn't been a public awareness of the risks.”
Her back legs are not working properly and she is on an off incontinent (she is taking medication for it now)- but she is very active and playful, and we would love for her to find a chill space to be a kitten in (she is in a confined area now). We will cover all vet costs too.
Looking for a home for this sweet girl that was dumped near our building. She's got a back/leg issue at the mo (check next tweet) but we hope to find her a kind family that will look out for her. Please contact me if you can give her a home, or help find one!
Over the past few years I've had many discussions with people who want to build a house in Sri Lanka. Based on my experiences, I wrote a detailed guide to all the things you're going to learn the hard way.
Hope it's useful. Pass it on if it is.

"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails. They're trying to change our habits, because all of the projections rely on people becoming truly dependent on the technology. Whether or not it's actually a good thing for society isn't considered to be a factor."
It's their job to explore every nook and cranny of whatever their account is focused on but you live a normal life. I can't imagine monitoring my macros with the zeal of a fitness influencer but overtime it becomes "...should I?". Weird place to be
Lifestyle content creators are a dangerous follow. When it's someone's actual income stream to remind you of all the ways you fall short of whatever they have dedicated their life to, you'll inevitably feel like an idiot. Why sign up for that?
i don’t know anything but my experience of aging so far has been a series of sudden& humiliating realizations that every cliche made meaningless by constant exposure (“be yourself” etc) contains a completely overwhelming degree of truth that u can’t understand until you just do
Stardust is leaving Netflix on October 24th - PSA that you absolutely should watch or rewatch, if you haven't already (plus De Niro in the most un-De Niro role evah)
some books you are meant to buy and have sit on your shelf until the version of you who is meant to read it is born. i’ll always support buying an insane amount of books.
Used to take the bus pretty much daily in my early 20s and the mental labour of finding the right seat (never in the back, ideally near a woman)+keeping an eye on the hands of any dude standing or sitting nearby had me exhausted before I reached my stop 🫠
used a bus for the first time in 5 years. 10 mins in - there’s a boy behind me, pressing his crotch on my backside.
thankfully, i’m able to uber almost everywhere i go and avoid being harassed in public transport - but what about the women who use busses and trains daily?
Writing is strange. You start (sometimes) with the words flowing from you, then you get stuck somewhere in the middle, and you stay in this state for a few days. You wonder if you have lost your touch. You keep at it. You rewrite, move lines around, and return again and again.
Finally, you have your story. You are a genius. You submit. You click on the Gmail attachment to revel in your sublime talent and immediately spot a clunky line. You said 'perhaps' too many times. You used too many commas. Oh dear. Oh well.
