In 1938, Heinrich Himmler sponsored an expedition to Tibet led by several Nazi SS scientists to study the region's flora and fauna and to conduct scientific measurements of the Earth's magnetic fields.
The expedition also aimed to find traces of the origins of the Aryan race in Tibet. This film is the Nazi-era documentary about that expedition.
"Geheimnis Tibet" (1943) was filmed between 1938 and 1939 during the expedition.
