@miketatarski I’m not shocked by this. Many celebs in Vietnam are involved in gambling and accumulate huge debts. They then breach the contract to get the money and pay off their creditors, i.e. not delivering the car after receiving the payment. This is how the crime in question occurs.

@duyngolaw As long as the defendant (or plaintiff) has no real prospect of success, the judge can decide to go on with the summary judge, which requires no hearing.

@duyngolaw I research English case law in my free time. They have a process called summary judgement. The requirement is pretty simple, and the judge has more freedom to interpret the situation.

@michaelxpettis @HongshenZhu Vietnam's municipal governments also tries to boost personal pension (aiming at self-employed people) by subsidizing part of the payment. My father is a self-employed mechanic and I pay for his personal pension. The city subsidizes, like $1.50 per month😒
