@fistofnicaea I don't disagree with you. These are nearly insurmountable differences.
It hasn't stopped all of said hierarchies from continuing the process, though.
@StCyrilLucaris@fistofnicaea He blocked me too, which is strange because I never interacted with him before.
Ecumenism is happening, that is not up for debate. Whether it is benign or destructive is where the conversation actually is.
@StCyrilLucaris@fistofnicaea We'll see what happens. God has a plan beyond which we can comprehend.
What I can say for sure is that the online laity will continue their bickering until the day of Judgement
@StCyrilLucaris@fistofnicaea There was a joint Christological statement between Rome and the Coptic church, and the Antiochian-Syriac agreement (both in the 90's). If unification is the goal, it seems all sides have already, and are continuing to compromise toward that end.
@vinedodeltexto Having particular clothing set aside for worship is absolutely part of Christian tradition, and is global.
That being particularised to fancy clothing is something that only exists in the Anglosphere and Western Europe.
@Garimian@Moth3rmomo If this is accurate (AI), then the gospel was read from the Qiddist, not the Maqdas.
Our demarcations are slightly different, hence my confusion.
@Garimian@Moth3rmomo I am defaulting to western terms and causing more confusion - the Gospel was not read behind the curtain.
I sent you a DM. I'll provide some pictures and videos there once you accept
@Garimian@Moth3rmomo There were two celebrating priests, and one of them read the Gospel from within the sanctuary.
Then the musical part took place before the Creed was chanted.
For such a small and humble church, it was a really powerful and moving service.
@Garimian@Moth3rmomo@Garimian It looks like website is down, but if you search St. Mary of Zion Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, you can see pictures and videos. There is a video of what I am talking about.
Feel free to DM and I can share the priest's contact if you want
@Li34041@maksimologija Of course. A general confession before baptism wouldn't make sense unless it is conditional.
Catholics did it first and some American Orthodox churches replicate the approach.

@cyrilmatthai@Garimian@Moth3rmomo My apologies, I did make a mistake in classifying which part of the Liturgy. It was after the Gospel ready at the Liturgy proper. We really loved the whole experience.
This was not a Rastafarian service, and I do not use drugs. Look it up, it is in Ocho Rios.
@ggg_blocgggg@Moth3rmomo To the best of my knowledge, English is the only language used at any of the Ethiopian churches in all of jamaica. I could be wrong, though
