There’s been a lot of negativity as of late (understandably so). It’s a dark time to be alive. Russians are genociding Ukrainians. Russians are conducting pogroms against Jews. Israel and Palestine are again at war. And clueless westerners are chiming in with their ignorant commentary.

It’s getting harder to be optimistic, but like we always say - small good deeds add up to great things.

When I joined NAFO last year it got me through this darkness. We fought Russian propaganda with humour. We stood beside each other regardless of belief, politics and ideology. Staying united creates strength. I think it’s time we return to those roots.

This isn’t something just for NAFO, but all of us who are supporting what is right. NAFO or not we are all in this fight together.

We all need to step back and remember who the real enemies are. Let’s not focus our anger on our friends and allies (I’m guilty of this too). We should support each other and go after those who support evil.

Disagreements happen. Best way to prevent escalation - just avoid it and move on. It’s not worth it. Rumours, revenge, arguing, hating. It’s wasted energy. People are dying. Let’s find ways to help the innocent instead of bickering.

The time it takes to write something negative could be spent supporting a volunteer or saying something positive. As a wise man once said to me “positivity and humour are our best weapons”. Obviously this won’t win the war, but it can defeat propaganda and raise morale. That helps.

Let’s return to that. Let’s stay positive. Let’s be united. Let us stand against evil, not each other. Say something positive. Donate. Retweet. Follow that fella. Support that volunteer or soldier. We can and will get through this.
