The Ontario Teachers Pension Plan has said that in October 2021 it invested $75 million in FTX, and it made a follow-on investment of $20 million in FTX US in January this year.

It is estimated that they could face at least a $95 million loss, per Forbes.

The problem is that the SEC failed to create regulatory clarity here in the US, so many American investors (and 95% of trading activity) went offshore.
