Statistics South Africa’s latest "International Tourism: March 2026" report shows a steady flow of travellers coming through South Africa’s ports of entry.
In March, South Africa recorded just over 900 000 overnight visitors, with about a quarter coming from overseas markets.
Growth from Brazil, Germany, and the United Kingdom points to continued interest from key long-haul markets, even in a tougher global economic environment.
With holiday travel still dominating, the data points to where the sector’s core strength lies: South Africa’s ability to offer something that holds up across markets and seasons.
