It is a gross abuse of powers if they sign this into law. No group fires the Sheriff, nor has the authority to interfere with the operations of the office. Elected sheriffs are accountable directly to the constitution of their state, the United States Constitution, statutes, and the citizens of their county.

It’s challenging to get people to understand how fucking huge it is that the state wants to abolish vote-in sheriffs.
