🇪🇸 Spanish intel agencies reportedly warned the government of the Moroccan invasion of Ceuta well in advance, including rehearsals that were taking place before the event.

They also told them about a large number of coaches that had arrived in the Moroccan town of Castillejos, the closest to the Ceuta border, where thousands of people had gathered.

The government chose to ignore the warnings, and the rest is history.

It was clearly a coordinated event. That raises the question: who paid for the buses, who organized it, and why?

상위층은 국가를 어느 정도 '선택'하거나 뛰어넘을 수 있지만, 하위층은 그 국가의 제도∙인프라∙치안∙공공서비스 수준에 거의 그대로 붙여 있기 때문임

Bitget has reduced STX’s Unified Trading Account collateral ratio from as high as 60% to 10% for holdings of up to 1,000,000 STX. Holdings above 1,000,000 STX now receive a 0% ratio.

This is not a delisting or a suspension of spot trading. However, it is a significant tightening of STX’s treatment as collateral and may increase margin and liquidation risk for affected users.

Update on the Stacks hardfork:

(1) 100% of the miners upgraded. 98.44% of the signers upgraded. The network is operating smoothly.

(2) All major exchanges (Binance, Upbit, etc) and major partners have upgraded.

(3) Binance asked for additional information, which we’ve provided. There seem to be no additional questions from Binance. Their “risk tag” will get reviewed in the upcoming committee meeting in a few weeks.

(4) The Stacks Endowment is working on new initiatives for improving liquidity and health of trading markets. Update soon.

The Satoshi Upgrades 1 fork is the best engineering execution we’ve seen so far.

몇 달째 발목 잡던 장애물 세 개가 동시에 풀렸다는 뜻.

1. 결집의 구조.
민주당 실무그룹 약 12명이 지난 1년간 법안을 다듬어 수백 페이지에 걸쳐 민주당의 우선순위를 반영시켰다. 시르자드는 이 자리에서 크립토가 워싱턴에서 사실상 가장 초당적인 사안이 됐다고까지 말했다. 규제 법안 하나를 만들려고 여야가 이 정도로 오래 붙어 있었다는 것 자체가 이례적이다.

2. 윤리 조항.
대통령 본인에게 직접 적용되는 윤리 조항이 미국 역사상 처음 만들어졌다. 백악관이 이를 받아들였다는 건, 규제 명확성이 더 이상 협상 카드가 아니라 이미 합의된 전제로 넘어갔다는 신호다.

3. 남은 건 문구뿐.
SEC와 CFTC 지명 약속도 확보됐다. 실질 내용까지 초당적으로 마련된 지금, 남은 싸움은 세부 문구뿐이다. 인프라 쪽 논쟁이 규제 쪽 논쟁을 이겼다.

얼마 전까지도 크립토 규제 법안이 이번 회기 안에 통과되리라 믿는 사람은 많지 않았다. 지금은 세부 문구 하나를 두고 다투는 단계까지 왔다. 정책은 시장을 이끄는 게 아니라, 결국 시장이 만들어 놓은 현실을 뒤늦게 승인하는 것이다.

2024년에 AGI가 언제 오냐고 물었으면 2025년이라고 답했을 사람이, 왜 안 왔는지 직접 설명함.

오픈AI에서 추론을 이끌던 제리 트워렉임. 강화학습을 키우면 전부 풀린다고 믿는 최대주의자였고, 실제로 그 확장의 한복판에 있었음. 모델을 하나씩 학습시켰고 계속 좋아졌고 벤치마크 점수는 전부 올라갔음.

그런데 현실 과제는 안 풀렸음. 그가 짚은 이유가 날카로움. 모델을 평가하는 벤치마크가 모델을 학습시킨 것과 사실상 같은 것이었다는 것. 시험 문제와 교재가 같은 물건이었던 셈임. 점수는 오르는데 실력이 그만큼 안 늘어난 이유가 여기 있음.

지금 그는 코어 오토메이션이라는 회사를 만들었는데, 이름 그대로 작업 자동화가 목표임. 그런데 스스로에게 던지는 질문이 이것임. Codex로 많은 일을 하는데 왜 나는 아직도 출근하는가. 왜 아직 자동화가 안 됐는가.

답으로 그가 내놓은 건 규모가 아니라 구조임. 지난 6년은 같은 두 연산에 파라미터만 계속 붙인 시간이었고, 이제 병목은 아키텍처 자체라는 것. 모델은 실험실에서 학습되고 현실에서 배포된다는 긴장이 핵심이라고 했음.

스케일링으로 여기까지 왔다는 데는 다들 동의함. 갈리는 건 다음 구간도 같은 방법으로 갈 수 있느냐임.
