civil unions are stupid, take the govt out of marriage what the fuck is the point? i’m not necessarily for and/or against marriage i don’t rlly care, i’m not particularly religious either, i think loving yourselves in your heart is all that matters. if i didn’t get benefits from the govt, spousal privileges in hospitals etc. then i prolly would bothering going thru that legal process whether its called marriage or a civil union. the only ppl who care about the name are religious zealots who simultaneously also disagree with the state being tied to it, you take the govt outta marriage/civil unions & why would anyone do it unless your family is like super religious. i personally think it’s a nonissue & US has more pressing problems
